I haven't watched Strictly in a couple of years so I'm not really familiar with how the judges pick the dance they want to see again. Is it usually one of the couple's weaker ones where there's room for improvement?

I believe this is the theory, but if more often seems to turn into a rather boring "do something dull we can give a 40 to" festival. It may well be an illusion, but my memory of Judge's Choices round is full of week 1 cha chas and and occasional waltz.

Edited to add: If a couple have had a complete flop with a dance (e.g. Jay's monumentally mucked up QS) then they would probably go for that. In which case Danny's foxtrot is a shoo-in.

I would not expect any Halloween week dance to be repeated in the final as the costumes and staging will look very out of place. Kevin and Frankie really wanted to repeat their Tango in the final but didn't for that reason.

True, and the same goes for Blackpool dances. But there are exceptions - Chelsee and Pasha re-did the Shrek jive (with very-much-simplified make-up for Pasha) and iirc Caroline and Pasha redid their Charleston which, again iirc. they did at Blackpool.

Caroline's Charleston was from Around The World Week, which was in the studio as usual. It did use backing dancers in the original version though, which weren't available for the final, so the reprise ended up looking a bit underdone. Quite a lot of Blackpool dances other than that have been reprised though - Denise's samba, Chris Hollins' foxtrot, Kara's American Smooth, Simon's Argentine Tango, Abbey's quickstep, Susanna's paso etc etc.

I wouldn't try and guess the judges choice to be honest. They've had absolute sitters before and ignored them completely. Pretty much all four of the judges told Caroline her American Smooth would have got 10s if she'd not stumbled over her dress in it. When it came to the final what dance came out instead? An effing Week 1 cha cha.

I really don't want to see Danny's foxtrot again . I love all his dances but it's my least favorite . Besides, I really don't think that Halloween dances tend to be repeated in the finals. I also don't think that him and Oti will choose their Charleston . I see them pick their Quickstep which I'll be extremely happy about. That dance was pure class from start to finish with an outstanding choreography . I still get the impression from watching their interviews that it's Danny's favorite dance.

They will not do the Foxtrot again, as it was the Halloween week dance and the Charleston scored the maximum 40 so that off the list. I also go with the Quickstep, either as the judges pick or their favourite dance as it's one of if not Danny's favourite dance of them all.

I hope, if Claudia gets to the final, that the judges choose her Samba. I think it could be amazing with a few tweaks to the routine and with Claudia's no doubt increased stamina.

With Ore I think for the judges selection they've probably go with salsa or cha cha cha for the judges selection as they'll want something he can improve upon rather than something he was already good at.

I hope we get a 3 person final- and that the strictly producers allow all semifinalists to go through

There are going to be 4 people in the semi-final and 3 in the final. So one down on usual numbers. Not sure where you've lost another person

Hope your right about the Quickstep. I always enjoy their dances but their Quickstep was just so classy., definitely my favourite.

Series 4 and Series 7 both had all male finals (albeit there were only two people in each of them).

(This just reminded me how much I want to see Ed's Quickstep again tbh, it was Micheal Vaughan levels of improvement and got nowhere near the score it should have).

It depends if they do the same as last year - they apparently couldn't choose a dance from the last 3-4 weeks of the competition, so nothing from Blackpool on.

Personally I'd much rather it went back to best Ballroom & Latin (or similar).

That way we see really great dances, it's a celebration of success......instead of the lacklustre, awkward Finals we've had recently, with reruns runs of week 1 cha chas and tangos which they try to engineer justifying throwing 40 at.

I want to see the best dances over again!!!
