I know perfectly well everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not sure where I'm supposed to have attacked Sorcha? I merely commented that, for me, it was odd she liked Phelan but found Gemma "ghastly". This is a public forum and if people make comments, they are bound to have others comment on them. I often feel that if I disagree with what appears to be the forum consensus, which is often not the same as the general public's, I get verbally attacked unfairly and unnecessarily. As you say, people are entitled to have a different opinion, only some more than others, it would seem.

I really like her, which is odd for me because her sort of characters in the past really made my teeth itch. Maybe I'm getting old and finding comedy characters actually funny...

I have to say, I actually like both characters way more than when they first arrived in the show though Gemma is sometimes way OTT.. "Latersss" does anyone really say that? and Phelan, well I think he is just a good guy who is basically misunderstood..

I have to question someone's sense of humour if they find the grossly stupid chav "funny".

The difference for me is that Phelan (in my opinion) is a well written and acted villain. I agree he is completely despicable but that's what makes him interesting for me. Gemma, on the other hand, is written as a chav stereotype, I don't find the comedy side of her remotely funny and I think the actress is weak.

It feels a bit strange to say I "love" Phelan but I find him great to watch, a bit like Kirsty - clearly the villain in that storyline, but one I managed to feel sympathy for because of Natalie Gumede's brilliant portrayal.

I like gemma, they give her sone good comedy lines, as they do well eith characters in corrie.

but for some reason on this forum Phelan is seen as soap royalty so if u mention not liking the character, prepare for a backlash. some ppl call him " King Phelan" dunno why

i love Gemma she is easily my fave character but cos most ppl on here don't like her, some ppl act like its weird that she's my fave character. its actually kinda weird how argumentative some ppl become over soap characters tbh. i was verbally attacked and mocked by some ppl for months cos before she was killed Kylie was my fave character it was so weird how some ppl treated me for it

i love both Gemma and Kylie but it wasn't Gemma's fault Kylie died! it was Clayton's, he was harassing Gemma in the kebab shop, Gemma got knocked unconscious, Kylie went to save her then Clayton stabbed Kylie Gemma didn't know it happened cos she was unconscious so obviously wasn't responsible for Kylie dying

I do like Gemma and think it's good for Rita to have more airtime but the actress is rather panto and as I said earlier she reminds me of Cilla Battersby-Brown with the overacting and silly gurning. Cilla was quite popular though so perhaps this OTT style is something CS viewers enjoy?

I didn't like her as Callum's mate/gopher/thug, but she's a refreshing character now. She's spunky & gobby, but underneath the bluster she seems a good 'un.
