It's a twist that will 'shock fans' who 'won't see it coming' so we decided to reveal it so that no one will be surprised when it happens...
Makes sense

"A source said: “Maria will be handed a 12-month stretch but she’ll be back on the cobbles in the new year because of good behaviour."

“It will be one of the most shocking court storylines in the soap’s history and likened to Deirdre Barlow’s wrongful conviction [for fraud in 1998]."

Except, this time, the nation will be begging for them to throw away the key.

Err non of this makes sense. I doubt it's true based on interviews I've read from Samia, Catherine and Katie Oates.

Even the prisons don't want Dullria, she'll make the place all dreary and dull

Maria could spend 2 years in prison following her sham marriage. She could enter prison in 2016, on December 31st at 11.59pm, and leave in 2017, on January 1st at 0.01am.

That's why I put quote marks on *spoilers* just in case. Hope that's ok.

The article make little sense, shoddy work, you think they employ people to at least make it sound cohesive.

Would Samia really take more time off considering how long she had off already before.

Spoilers indicate she got stuff coming up, if Maria is handed a 12 month sentence it likely be suspended etc

What a weird article!!

Seems to be full of contradictions!!
She's going to prison for a year but she's back in the new year?
It's to give Samia time off but she's still going to be filming?

Will wait for word from the lady herself on this one I think!!
If they do go down the prison route for the Pablo thing it will actually be a welcome change to have a resident locked up for something they DID do rather than yet another miscarriage of justice!! Terribly harsh on her when compared to what some have got away with but, much as I love Maria I have said all along there should be consequences down the line for the sham marriage s/l & looks like there could be!! Either way looking forward to the drama & Samia acting it out!! I do think she has done an excellent job with the paper thin plot she has been given to work with in the Caz s/l & I have found all her scenes convincing, even if much of the plot isn't!!

Lol there is more holes in this article than there is in the Maria/Caz storyline and that's saying something.

I think they are jacking her up on the marriage business so they can hold her while they look into the missing Cas nonsense. It gives them lots of time to look for evidence and a possible body while she is in lock up. No chance to do a Vinny and dissappear. She should have lawyered up and let them whistle dixie. Maria is too honest and thought the truth would be the best chance to get it straightened out. Imagine what she is going to be like on the stand under a blistering cross. She'll be lucky if she doesn't have a nervous breakdown. It's not looking good.

I'm inclined to believe tbh, The Sun has leaked a few spoilers of late and they have all been right.

So is Samia going down to a recurring role? Can she not hack working full time for the first time in years

This storyline sounds awful.

Why exactly??

Surely it's a logical enough conclusion to a s/l that appeared at first to be a pointless bit of fluff that was never going to be mentioned again!!
I love Maria as a character but she did what she did here & as such deserves to face consequences for it, harsh as it may seem when compared to what the likes of David & Tracy have got away with over the years & if true i applaud KO for taking what was
an awful s/l & making something of it!!
As for Samia, for one thing we don't even know if the story is true yet, and if it is no one knows anything of the circumstances behind it so I would hesitate to infer she is workshy or whatever it is you're trying to infer just yet!! Every interview I've seen with her she has been buzzing about Maria's new storylines & her return to the spotlight again!!

They don't use all of the characters all of the time, and they usually appear less after a story which is around them. So it does make sense that she could get a one year sentence for the sham marriage and then be released early, and with the occasional appearances before that.

We haven't seen much of Beth since her bigamy was exposed.

We haven't seen much of Sean recently. Nor Rita, Tim or Steve. And none of those have had heavy storylines.

Very true & Maria has had quite an intense few months in the spotlight so it's reasonable enough to expect a quieter spell again which will have the added bonus for Samia of being able to spend a bit more time with her new family for a while again!!
At least they don't sound like they're going to abandon her in prison like they have done in this current s/l for a fortnight immediately after her arrest scenes!!
