A close friend of mine owns a greasy spoon, so I don't pay a penny. And it's top notch too, he's quite posh and sources all his ingredients from local farms and the like. Does a proper strong brew too, and uses tin mugs instead of china mugs.

Heathen swine!

About a fiver, OP. I don't really rate them highly.

£10 sounds a lot but it does depend on many factors like are the ingredients organic and locally sourced? unlimited cups of tea/coffee? portion sizes aka would you be able to float a boat on the size of the baked beans being offered.

You can easily do a basic breakfast commercially for 1-2 quid using the basic catering stuff from a cash and carry but it depends on whats on offer that makes it worth it...butlers in the buff, topless waitresses or whatever else to get the punters in.

The Wetherspoons "Full English" isn't great but OK when there's nothing better available nearby. The worst are in those ex-pat cafes and bars in places like Spain or Greece where the ingredients, especially the sausages, are always cheap and frozen. I always seem to have one on my first day on holiday and then don't do it again for the rest of the week.

Obviously it depends on the quality. I'd rather pay a bit extra and get good quality stuff. I know of a fab place that charges £10 but it's great quality, all locally sourced, the bacon is almost as thick as a gammon steak and the sausage is 97% meat. Great black pudding too. I know of another place that is similar, they bake their own bread and make their own hash browns. I think a tenner is a good price if it's really nice food.

If it's a really good breakfast then £10.

I already had that figure in mind from just reading the title of this thread before reading any of the posts!

Morrisons in-store cafes do an excellent Big Breakfast for £4.50 (plus tea or coffee extra).

£10 - £15 depending on quality.

I'd rather have toast than the rubbish some places try to pass off as sausages or bacon.

£15? Jesus Christ. If it was served on Rachel Riley's thighs, sure, but otherwise ... more money than sense.

Quality over quantity every time although no baked beans thank you unless home made

The biggest rip off to me are the hotel buffets, where they try to charge about £15. People get sucked in by the all you can eat aspect, but realistically there is only so much you can eat, generally most people won't eat any more than if they just ordered from a menu. I often find the quality lacking, rubbery eggs sat under a hot lamp etc.

I'd pay £18 per head for the Hawksmoor sharing breakfast which is £36, google it, it looks awesome.

Unusual. I thin Wetherspoons breakfasts are pretty good, decent ingredients as well.

For me a full English using organic and locally sourced ingredients is kind of missing the point.

The cry of people with no money.

Better insult me for buying decent food than admit you can't afford to.

Cook your own, it's cheaper, healthier and far better than anything a greasy spoon equivalent can throw up.

Given your posting history there are infinitely better reasons to insult you than that.

Where to start with this.

It's own healthier and better if you are good at cooking, if you're not it won't be,

As for cheaper, my local greasy spoon does a massive full english for £4, not entirely sure I could get the ingredients for that much.
