Giles and Mary are a real Gogglebox treat. The dynamics of their relationship is so beautifully and always wittily drawn. She is undoubtedly the sober, realistic captain of the ship but there are lovely moments where you also see why Giles is her best shipmate.

I didn't realize that they got paid on Googlebox!
Scarlett,or the family, gets £1500 a month. For watching TV one day a week. I am sure that the others get that too. A long day but one day all in all.

I'm sure I read recently that they don't get paid but they can order any food they like and the programme makers pay for it.

She mentioned the other night that she watches TV for a living.

Yes, didn't she say that that's how she paid her parent's mortgage off?

Yes she did. It must pay handsomely!

Sitting on your bum in the comfort of your own home - I'd say that was a lucky break for the woman who never gets s break (according to her).

£1500 a month apparently so not sure how she's managed to pay her parents mortgage off with that amount.

Having oly watched one episode of Gogglebox years ago and not getting it, I had no idea who Scarlett was before the show and I'm not really getting her popularity.

I don't get it either, not one bit. I'm sick of these northern girl acts, which I find tedious. Thank heaven for Martin...at least he provides some fun.

I think it was the gigs she got off the back of Gogglebox that earned the money to pay off the mortgage eg. tv appearances, a book, a radio show etc.

Ahhhhhhh, she was on Beauty School previously, long before Gogglebox........so her claims that she doesn't know why she's there & she's ever so 'umbled' to have been chosen, puts a completely different slant on things............

HERE...... ROLLEYES

Well, well, well that really does put a different slant on things. She's a lot more savvy than she's making out. Personally I think she peaked early on, popularity wise, on IAC and there will be a surprise winner (Joel hopefully)

Indeed she is!
I think people are sick & tired of her being constantly rammed down their throat day in day out! Give some of the others a bit of air time & have a level playing field.........just for a change.
