As an ex camp mate once said. Have watched the odd series before and quite enjoyed them, as a somewhat guilty pleasure. However, really struggling with this one. It must be one of the most manipulated shows I have ever seen. The producers are making this up as they go along, in order to promote their chosen few. Why have we seen zero coverage of over half the people in there? It's certain they would at least had conversations with each other but still we see nothing of Lisa, Sam, Ola, Carol and Jordan. I hope they are suitably appalled when they are the first voted out and get to see their non-existent edit.
The current 4 that are immune from the vote off have now been undermined by the producers yet again, as 2 of them will be replaced.
As a watcher of Gogglebox, I always quite liked Scarlett but the blatant nepotism going on with her is getting frankly ridiculous, she wasn't off screen at all yesterday, what with tasks for the immunity people and in the telegraph room. I don't think this is entirely her fault however, again the producers are manipulating what we see, they are doing the same with Adam, Danny and Martin to a certain extent.
All in all, I know this is a 'reality' show but the viewers should at least be treated with a little respect, than having this scripted manipulation forced upon us, they are not even hungry, been well fed with easy trials, not the show it used to be.

Totally agree with you. It is so staged they might as well have scripts. I would like to hear how others are feeling not just Scarlett ( her voice is so grating), also I wonder why Joel has turned anti Adam.

The most annoying thing isn't just Chosen One getting over 50% of the airtime. It's the fact that about 6 of them now are getting barely a line an episode.

It's like the producers have been treating this as a show with 5 camp mates in it since about the 3rd episode. If your favourite is one who isn't Chosen One, Adam or maybe Danny and Martin, you may as well not even bother watching because you're not going to see much of them. It's ridiculous.

I think it's pretty obvious Scarlett is getting a script

All her "one liners" for sure.

Maybe not day by day. But she will have been drilled on go to phrases before it started.

As I said in another topic. That entire ghosts discussion including the ghosts in jeans thing, I have heard that all before.

I'd say away from the others in the BT she gets a fair bit of prompting as well

I thought the editing of Adam v inetresting a couple of nights ago. It was at the start of the show following Martin's meltdown and Adam was admitting that he doesn't do his duties properly. I wonder at what point he had said that - whether it was after the show had been put together or whether the production team chose to leave it out until the next day). A shame that we can't trust what we see, but then, that's how these shows are. It just feels so much more manipulated than the series I've seen before (admittedly a few years ago now).

Yes mate, I'm sure if she was scripted then the best way to go about it without arousing suspicion would be to plagiarise a load of material rather than paying someone to write something original. You've heard the ghost thing before because literally everyone has made a similar observation. The fact that Scarlett has too, is not proof that she is being fed lines ffs.

I really thought after last year with Vicky they would have learnt from it. It just shows how standards have dropped when a professional couch potato is elevated more than an olympian. Then again, we are the fools surely for watching.

Has it ever occurred to you, and others in this thread, that the reason the others aren't getting any airtime is because they simply aren't saying or doing anything interesting? The producers have the very difficult task of quickly editing 24 hours of material into a coherent and entertaining hour long show that satisfies advertisers and keeps people watching. When you take out ad breaks, Ant and Decs bits, and the nightly task, this leaves roughly fifteen minutes of footage from the camp. Last night there were two tasks so it was even less. How do you give equal airtime to all contestants with only 15 minutes to utilise? Do you divide up the time equally and literally show each contestant for roughly one minute and ten seconds, or do you, you know, show the interesting bits to make for an entertaining television programme?

I don't think Scarlett has a script. I don't think she'd be able to carry it off.

How do we know they are not doing anything interesting if we hardly see them? Catch 22. How on earth Moffatt can be classed as interesting is beyond me.if that's the most exciting we've got on rea!ity TV then it is definitely time to pull the plug.

Does anyone here genuinely believe the editing isn't done to favour a particular camp mate(s)?

I think it's fairly obvious that ITV have certain camp mates in mind before a series starts and take as many opportunities as it can to push their profile onto us voting mugs.

I think with the Moffat girl, it's gone just a stage too far and it has rather spoiler the IACGMOOH experience for me this time round. All the producers have done is to make me say to myself "I can't be asked to watch this tonight". Problem is, I'm saying that more and more.

Put it this way, if the gullible ppl on here are anything to go by with their denial that its fixed, I'm not surprised Vicky won the crown using the same tactics all round that Scarlet and the crew are using. If they are the ones voting it all makes sense.

Gosh I've read about 6 threads on this forum during my lunch break and every single one of them are complaining about Scarlett (or the "Moffat girl"). What's she done to upset everyone - has she suddenly turned into Lady C overnight?

It's not really her fault that the producers/editors are featuring her. Can't say I'm a particular fan as I don't like that type of "celebrating stupid" but anything I do know of her is that she is quite a kind, caring person with occasional flashes of humour ( I found her "I have tried quinoa" line quite funny in the opening episode). I don't think she has done anything to deserves the vitriol she is getting on here.

In general I think it is a fairly dull series but I am sure if anyone did anything of interest it would be shown.

It would be nice to have the opportunity to find that out for ourselves.

I don't get why they pay out a lot of money to these contestants, then only show a handful of them for 3 weeks, & seem to focus on only 2 or 3 of them. . Are we to believe they're really choosing such dullards that they aren't even worthy of being shown during their time there. Seems very strange to me!

I think I phrased the term that Moffat girl.

Now, she's apparently not what she appears in the jungle. This is one of those friends of friends relative but it turns out that most of her close neighbours know the angelic young lady as a foul mouthed individual.

I find her as 'funny' as halitosis and if you are using that thickness as humour I hope you end up with a very funny other half!

However the viewing figures are well up on last year, so whilst you lot find it so boring you can barely watch, the general population doesn't seem to agree.

Absolutely. I knew nothing about some of them when they entered, and I still don't know anything about them. I'd like to know more about Sam for example.

I had high hopes at the beginning that they'd gone back to basics, as they played out people getting to know one another and become accustomed to camp life, gradually. We don't mind hearing normal chatter, and regular interaction it doesn't have to be staged with high emotion and drama. A real shame, because if it's obvious it's scripted, even loyalists will turn their back on future series.

BiB: Agree.

I would like to know more about Sam, from what little we have seen of her she seems a lovely person and nothing like a 'dullard'. I do know Ola is most definitely not a dullard either, nor I image is Carol. But it seems it's the Scarlett, Martin & Adam Show, and I'm getting fed up with all 3.
