Thinking of getting this since its on offer for black Friday but wondering how much of an upgrade it will be from my Samsung galaxy pro note 12.2? If there is anyone out there who has this then I'd appreciate in your opinion of it.

The Surface Pro is completely different to an Android tablet. It's a Windows PC in tablet form, and that has plus and minus points. You can run any software you would on a PC, but you will have to do PC maintenance tasks such as antivirus and cleaning up files.

I had a Pro 3 and sold it, getting a 'normal' laptop instead. I now use an iPad 80% of the time.

I prefer a tablet. Mine seems to struggle though with web pages especially DS. Not exactly a cheap tablet either so not sure why. I've even reset it but it's still the same. With the Microsoft pro being basically a PC. I was hoping it would be better.

It definitely has enough oomph for DS. I have a pro 3 and use it all the time. It's bigger and heavier than a normal tablet, but I only use it at home, usually in bed to watch videos or browse and occasionally do some PC thing. The drawback, if you are used to it, is a selection of apps. So you may like it or not. For me it was my best purchase and I do not regret it.

Personally I went for the i5 version. So far it's easily handled everything thrown at it, including Adobe CS etc.

I have a cheap Linx 1010 Windows 10 tablet with 2gb of RAM and DS is never slow for me. I run Chrome with uBlock and Ghostery since it is adverts and trackers that can slow down many websites.

There's a new model, with the Surface style kickstand and keyboard, out with the twelve inch model currently £270.
Less RAM and storage than the SP4, but then it is half the price and you can easily add a micro SD card to increase the storage.

I have a Pro 4 although mine is i7 based. Its a cracking machine. The Intel Core M3-6Y30 stands up pretty well to the i5 and at £400 its a bargain for sure.

This is a Microsoft machine and I have no doubt W10 will run like a dream on it.

I've only seen it for 550. Not sure how long it'll stay at that price. Not really in a position to buy it at the moment but maybe closer to Christmas I might be. I just fancy a change from android but no point if its there's difference in performance with my galaxy note pro 12.2.

Did your performance improve on DS?

Not much. It's certainly not smooth. To be honest it's been like that since DS updated their website. Before it was ok. Whether the SP4 is better I don't know.
