I've always preferred Dec of the two as well.

Is it only Ant glamourising bullying The thread does suggest both are.

I dunno, I just prefer Dec. Ant's presenting style is more in-your-face. I usually like the "other" of comedy duos :0

I don't think Ant & Dec are bullying, let alone glamorising bullying. Apart from the fact it's hard to ignore Martin's completely annoying, childish behaviour, A&D are probably just following the script they are given.

Do you mean they have no say in anything given to them. I would imagine they can just say no.

What horrible clique? Ant and Dec certainly aren't lambasting Martin's every word and action or bullying him. Do you expect them to ignore his behaviour?
He's been very good at dishing out nastiness and arrogance and he's done it to them.
How long have you watched this show? They aren't any different to the way they've always been since it first began. Anyone going on the show knows full well what the consequences could be.

Seriously, even Martin himself would be eye-rolling madly at the idea that he's being bullied.

Martin's a great camp mate. You would hate to be in there with him but he's great to watch for that very reason. Ant and Dec know that and they love him as a camp mate.

Agree. What we're seeing is solid panto on both parts.

Absolutely. He's great tv but if I had to spend more than 10 minutes in his company, I'd want to kill him.

I'll give you the arrogance - he can come across that way although I think it's more of a mannerism and exaggerated for the cameras. As for nastiness - I see more directed at him than coming from him.

course they are going to take the piss out of Martin the most, he's where the jokes are, he's the one who needs his bubble bursting, he makes himself ridiculous so it's easy for the scriptwriters

it's why he gets the piss taken out of him the most on here, who else are we going to make fun of, Sam and Lisa ?

Coming in late and catching up on the show, so to date, I think they are all really sound...not liking Scarletts attention seeking too much though.

As an aside (is my astonishment at how badly Martin did on Celebrity Mastermind. He was woefully bad)

Haven't made my mind up yet on what I feel about him.

I've bided my time to watch the programme for a while before going with my instinct on Martin. But having done so, he really does seem to be a pompous, self important, narcissistic and ego driven individual.

I completely respect how Danny called him out on his behaviour. He's built an identity around being so important and infallible that when it was challenged he couldn't deal with it. The tears were there to gain sympathy and build himself up again. Methinks him and James Jordan would get on splendidly.

They're the presenters. They have to say the lines that are given to them. It's their job.

I thought the tears seemed genuine and I feel the public have demonstrated their feelings about Danny by not voting for him to remain.

I hate James Jordan and don't think him and Martin are remotely alike.

Oh the tears were genuine but like I said with the intention of building himself up again. We can only go on what we watch and this is the impression I got. I don't really care what the public think of Danny by voting him out. I stand by what he did as being the best response at that moment.

As for Ant and Dec. I recall that task where Martin was in the underground tunnel - he made more than one snarky remark to their really quite harmless commentary. More often than anyone else, he seems to take the most harmless of comments as some personal affront. I guess someone in his position may not be used to honest feedback like the type Danny provided. It's that lack of awareness and a personality that cannot live with being lesser than others that isolates him more than anything the rest of the group say or do. Hence this is not bullying.

I loved this show but lasty year they allowed awful treatment of an elderly lady, yes i know she had a gob but she was bullied and treated appallingly by everyone in the camp, all following that hadley guy. This year there is a definate pattern appeared , Martin seems to be the target by everyone, just because he tried to stand up for his team,Danny and his team were gloating and certain people, Adam is one has targetted him a great deal, Scarlet is a total cow, why anyone thinks shes sweet ill never know the producers inclusing Ant & Dec have manufactured events to deliberatly make Martin Suffer. There wasnt any mention of The royals having to do extra trials to keep there place. THEN mARTIN GOT THROUGH , OBVIOUSLY THEY DID NOT EXPECT THIS. the trial wen they were split into the 2 teams and had to collect as many bugs as possible pass them down a pipe to there team member who then fed them into the measure was obviously fixed, Adam never put a thing in the measure yet there team won, it was obvious to me and my husband that lisa had put loads in it and did Joel. I THINK THIS YEARS SHOW IS BEING MANIPULATED BY THE PRODUCERS,,, they know who they want to show in a good light and those in a bad light. The first trial in teams danny was cheating by holding the hole wide open wen the rules are always to keep arms by side or behind back, by holding it open it made it easier for him to unscreww the side with his mouth. ...

Oh stop being so over sensitive for god sake.
They've done nothing at all that even remotely resembles bullying. They're just having a laugh. They do it every year about any celebrity. They don't only take the mick out of Martin they've done it about everyone. Martin makes himself a target. He's like a child in a mans body. It's just light hearted banter.
