No its fine, I just seen the figure over on the ratings tgread from barb, I think tge 7m figure is the consolidated number.

I didnt think tonights episode was too bad, i managed to watch it all the way through anyway, and i wasnt going to watch again, i switched it on through pure habit., however the backlash is still strong on social media, facebook absolutely tearing it to pieces tonight. and before anyone starts with the 'social media full of illiterate teenagers', its a very wide demographic of people.

I don't mind conversations, but I'm totally bored with what they're talking about. SOC's EastEnders just ain't doing it for me. I'll probably give it till the end of the year, though, to see what the fallout or developments are following the reported cast exits.

One good thing about this discussion topic is that we are seeing people who perhaps lurk actually post and good on them

I'm so disappointed with the Christmas and new year story's, everyone's who has argued it's sonnuch more balanced under soc must be re thinking. Sensationalised returns, the play that went wrong panto, loser lee and his misery, Phil getting a mirical liver,

But all this Ronnie and Roxy dieing is just a pure un needed stunt,
I get they might not have fit his direction for the show, and I get that they needed a stunt for new year, but why not have the twist be that they actually did move to onga, they could have still had the big stunt fall into the pool cliff hanger. But then to go though with it and kill them was short sighted and self indulgent. This soc is obviously out to try and make a name for himself,

Now this Michelle stuff is bubbling up, I actually quite like her after the initial shock, but reading in between the lines I really hope she's not come back for a come home to die tragic death bed type send off. I'm so tierd of death

Not at all, I wasn't a huge fan of say September to November time it did get tedious but December has had some very good episodes and why I don't whole agree with what happened to R&R at it might be something they regret down the line, it produces some fantastic episodes, the next couple of months will be a testing time but I'm pretty positive about his direction.

I think he's doing a great job and I'm enjoying his style/vision. He's not the first executive producer to kill off iconic characters and he won't be the last. This week has been compelling so far and he has given R and R an unmissable exit storyline. Well done O'Connor for trying to fix EastEnders by making us invest properly in characters and he knows what he's doing.

I hope he ignores his critics and focuses on his job. I'm feeling very positive because we know there are new characters coming and he said 2017 will be EastEnders at its best. We have a new story producer and I'm sure she will come up with some excellent stories. He was brilliant in The Archers especially the Helen/Rob storyline.

I am glad to see people agree with me that SOC isn't the worst thing to happen to EE. I don't understand the sudden indignation at R&R's deaths when most people have complained that they have been coasting as characters since the Baby Swap. I did like R&R but, honestly, I think they had their day a long time ago. Some characters are only meant to take part in iconic storylines, not necessary become iconic themselves.

I agree with you 100% about SOC actually investing the characters and their relationships with their family/friends. As far as I'm concerned, he's laying down the foundations for his own storylines coming up in this 2017. In making the characters more relatable/likeable, the audience will genuinely feel more attached to them during future plots. Everything thus far is likely to have been DTC leftovers.
