Is it? I don't think she was bragging at all. As she herself has admitted, she still can't believe she's classed as a celebrity and has managed to make a career out of watching telly. I don't think it's bragging to be proud of the fact that you have been able to help your parents out so that they don't have to worry and struggle.
As I'm sure you're aware, Scarlett's dad had cancer a few years ago and couldn't work. Scarlett also has a sister who is much younger than her. You can see why she wanted to pay off their mortgage for them and why she's proud that she was able to do that.
I'm sorry that you see the worst in people but please remember that not everybody is playing up to the cameras and I really don't think she was bragging.

I meant in past shows did they give to charity and wondered if any of the ones this time round would too.........not a big deal, it was only after reading about Martins work he does for many childrens charities, and he does a lot, hands on stuff. which I admire. end of ... ) I'd be lavishing all sorts on them, and I would probably mention it to the people I'm close to as I'd be so chuffed to have been able to pay back my parents for all they'd done for me.Scarlett was just doing the same thing, but it happened to be one of the things that the editing team decided to broadcast. If memory serves it was just part of a group conversation about fame(?) She had no control over whether it was broadcast or not. If she had announced it in the Bush Telegraph then maybe I might have felt a little different but it was just a conversation.

This is how I see it too - I honestly don't get the hatred for her as she hasn't been anything but pleasant as far as I can tell. She seems very popular within the group and she was one of my favourites on Gogglebox too, she was very witty - but she got the same negative posts about her on the Gogglebox thread as well so what's happened on here has come as no surprise to me.
She's making hay while the sun shines, as anyone would do.

Did you know that Scarlett was one of the cast in Beauty School Cop-Outs on MTV in 2013? I certainly didn't until this morning. So I don't think she's 'awed and surprised' at all. Seems she's fairly experienced on the RTV circuit. I didn't watch that show but from what I read when Jeremy was on CBB it was a Geordie Shore type production.

Since she's not known for that, it plainly didn't propel her into the spotlight, from which we can conclude that she didn't give up but instead continued to look for and take up whatever opportunites she was offered in a bid to see if there was a place for her out there in the world of media. And now here she is on an iconic tv show with celebs that she'd never in her life thought she'd be sharing physical space with. So yes, imo, her awe and surprise and gratitude is 100% genuine.

Initially, it was absolutely the edit. I admitted as much in a thread I'd started. But I also have an issue with any female (not just Scarlett) letting on to be more helpless and fragile and stupid and innocent than they actually are. I happen to think she has this down to a fine art. I was genuinely shocked to read this morning That Scarlett did RTV before.

Fully agree with this. She was always my fave in gogglebox, in the jungle i dislike the fake helpless female act she puts on. She acts much younger than her years and yes, i do think she was virtue signalling announcing how much she has done for her parents.
Whenever i give money to people i don,t feel the need to tell others about it.
