Will Britney or Lady Gaga have another top 10?

Do you think Britney and Lady Gaga will have another top 10 in the US/UK. Lately their singles are flopping badly and Lady Gaga hasn't had a top 10 from this album and she has lost her general audience appeal and is more of a niche act now Britney hasn't had a top 10 single for a few years in the US/UK. In the streaming era both do badly on streaming particularly Britney, so it lessens their chances even more. I don't think Britney will have another as even with a popular video on Youtube her latest single is out of the top 100 after a few days in most countries and no one seems to care anymore. Both are also doing very bad on radio.

Singing like she is on helium on her latest album, does Britney no favours. If she wants more success, she needs to sing in a low register, not the ridiculous helium voice. Compare her vocals on 'perfume' to 'Private Show'. She sounds great on 'Perfume'

Lady Gaga hasn't had a big hit for ages, really.

Her last biog hit was "Applause", then "Do What U Want". Since then, pretty much nothing. And even then, they're not her most well known tracks.

I honestly doubt that Lady Gaga will do any more big pop songs.

As for Britney Spears, she's had her time.

for some reason Beyonce always seems to manage being put into these kind of arguments, it always seems to be kylie, Britney, Madonna, but beyonce's last top 10 I believe was back in 2013 around the same time applause and work bitch went top ten

I don't think it really matters, both had different goals this year.
Gaga's was to finally release the personal album she has been wanting to get out for years, and she did it, to great critical revivews.
Britney's goal was to make up for the God awful Bratwurst Jambon, and she delivered the best pop album of the year, flawless, slinky, wonderful.
They both achieved what they wanted. Both albums have done pretty well, who cares about a top ten? Not to mention Make Me did extremely well on US Itunes.

Britney definitely won't, Gaga probably will but I wouldn' t be surprised if not. I don't think B cares, given how she does hardly ever any promo. Gaga probably cares a lot more, but her hype and appeal is just over, people are bored with her.

Gaga - Yes depending on the right song,

Britney - Unless she uses her life stories as a selling point, then no.

How about Lady Gaga and Britney Spears collaborate on a good song and they might get to #10.

I actually think Gaga might go top ten with Million Reasons next week as she's performing on XF and doing live lounge.

Actually Formation debuted in the top 10 on Billboard in May after it was finally made available for purchase.

That!! When I listened to Slumber party there's almost no progress between Crazy and Slumber party, her voice still sounds like a teen star, only now reworked with the auto-helium.
Also her music does not grow in depth, it's just boys/men/sex/party.
She will never have a Ray of light in her collection, also because she lacks the drive and musical talent (at least Perry/Gaga/Little Mix /Kylie put in the effort to sing live at least various times when performing)

William Orbit was the talent behind Ray of Light. Considering it was such a personal album for Madonna, she didn’t self-pen any of the songs on her own. It's true that Britney's lost without a backing track, but Madonna relies on one for portions of her concerts. Let’s be honest here Gaga would be far better than Madonna and Britney if all three had to sing live on stage with one instrument and no special effects, props and backing dancers to support them. Gaga is an accomplished piano player and has a strong voice, two things that are rare for a pop star. Madonna plucks a couple of easy chords on the guitar for ten minutes and strains to hit even the simplest of notes when she sings. She’s not that musically talented, she’s passable, nothing more, and she needs a good team around her as much as Britney does. Who knows what Britney will record in the future. After all, Madonna didn't release Ray of Light until she was 40. In fact, she didn't record a mature album until she was nearly 31.

Britney and Madonna could never do anything quite like this:

How did Madonna have a very successful career and remain relevant into her 40's like with radio etc. Was ageism not evident back then? Britney hasnt been played on radio for the last years and she is only in her early 30's. Radio wont play her anymore

That's surely down to the quality/type of music that she's releasing. Beyonce and Pink are both older than her and they're on the radio loads (especially Pink)

Women have struggled in general to get top 10 hits since streaming came on to the scene to count in chart positions, early last year. The only women to get a top 10 solo since that I can think of is Adele and Zara Larsson, and maybe Taylor Swift. Rihanna has had some features and collaboration, and Sia had her big song with Sean Paul, but that's kind of it.

Even if Million Reason did get to #1 on iTunes tonight, it'll have dropped back out of the iTunes top 10 by Tuesday night. The song won't get a boost either on Spotify so at most, Million Reasons will probably chart somewhere between 31-40.

OT; I watched a bit of the UK Top 40 Countdown yesterday on MTV and the "future hit" was Britney Spears 'Slumber Party' which is apparently "one to watch when it's set to enter the charts".

LOL, and when exactly is Slumber Party set to enter the charts because I can't see it even making the top 75, yet alone the top 40.

Well for example Slumber Party wont even touch the top 40 as radio do not play it, and to be honest neither are the music channels, the internet can only carry a song so far.

Why are radio not playing it?

For Britney, I don't think they have chosen the right singles.

Make Me should never have been a single. Change Your Mind is a good choice for a single. Really catchy and love the mid tempo verses and dance chorus. 'Better' would also be a radio friendly choice. 'Just Like Me' would probably have gotten some attention given her vocals are so good on it.
