Aux input problem
Hi all,
I have an mp3 player which does not have bluetooth. I wanted to put it through my mini hifi so bought a 3.5mm jack cable with 2 phono plugs on the other end as the only input on the hifi is an aux input. When I connect everything up, it works but very low volume; even when you put radio on mp3 player it is quieter than radio straight from hifi. Is this because of cable or poor signal sent from mp3 player and is there anything I can do about this?Thx Pete

Well nothing to do with poor signal as it's a direct cable.
If it's a headphone socket on the mp3 player then you'll have to turn the volume up quite high on the player, as well as adjusting the volume on the hifi. Quite often (especially on cheap ones) mp3 players do have a fairly low output. |

In any event you should have the volume on the peripheral set to full, and then adjust it with the amp volume knob. Otherwise you will probably hear mains hum.
