Clunch! lol

There's a Farrow and Balls(<---typo-and it stays) shop in Henley that we mooch around sometimes when we have break from our meetings and I never realised how amusing their paint names could be. I'm going to be reading the shelves from now on

My walls are Skimming Stone don't you know

I love Farrow & Ball, their paint naming is hilarious, specially when you read the descriptions. I picked Clunch because I thought it quite accurately described Louise

Quote:
“DEPENDABLY SOFT

Clunch is aptly named after the chalk stone used in building blocks because it has a very dependable feel to it. Although some people see it as a soft grey, it actually has a yellow base making it the easiest of colours to live with.
Often contrasted with Pointing on woodwork for a fresher look or with Old White to create a traditional looking room that feels like it has always been that way.”

I do also really enjoy the contestants who really fall in love with dancing like Ed and Rob as it really resonates with me and my personal journey with dance.”

I agree with this entirely. I am finding this season to be very ho hum in general, like Ellie I have been enjoying Ed and Rob in particular as they have gone from complete beginners to people have found a love for dance and work hard to do their very best. Last night's show left me rather unmoved, and the cynical part of me thinks that the producers worked very hard to get rid of Ed, firstly with a Tango to a ridiculous piece of music, followed by the Cha Cha challenge, both of them guaranteed to show him up as being worse than the rest. The attempted manipulation did not work last week, but it might tonight

Well said - my sentiments entirely.

Farrow & Ball colours - there are some truly pretentious names. My favourites are 'Elephant's Breath' and 'Savage Ground'
Also some utterly meaningless ones - 'String' , 'Wevet' , 'Borrowed Light' , plus numerous others.

I hope never to be stuck in a lift with any of the geniuses that came up with these gems.

I feel the same. I'm at least going to take a break of a couple of days. (Need to do some exam study anyway.)

Thankyou duckylucky. Your comment is very much appreciated. I hope Jennifer returns as she really has extensive ballroom knowledge that I value.

Would you believe it but my dance teaching exam has just this minute been postponed (for reasons outside my control) and so no urgent need to study. (Although I should still be swotting up! )

So that was not much of a flounce! Didn't even get to shut the door behind me!

Yeah, a good thing for me (although the reason for the postponement is not at all good). It was my final ballroom exam (associate level tango) but my first latin (associate level rumba). Because it's my first Latin exam it is a bit longer than the follow up ones as they ask a lot of questions about overarching principles. I need to be better prepared. I have to dance lead (as well as follower) in rumba and it's quite tricky.

its not the name, its the quality of the colour mixing. thats what makes the difference between farrow and ball and B&Q economy range.... the difference between understated quality and cheap razz. the latter is very easy to find.

Isnt it amazing to think that the audience of Strictly is as varied as you and me ! After 10 years watching I have just managed to tell ballroom from latin ! I still struggle to know a cha cha from a samba . But just love the whole excitement
Danny just wows me , that samba was awesome
( yes I knew it was a samba ! )

String makes me think of that weird hairy straw coloured stuff that used to be prevalent when I was young.
