Its such a lottery going on shows like this because

it can make or kill your career.

Someone like Joel who had been on quite a few panel shows but not particularly well known has come across looking good and will probably do well from it and someone like Scarlett who before was extremely well liked, has come across quite badly, probably through no fault of her own, as she is not controlling her edit.

She was had done well after GB and got herself a radio gig, then wrote a book, which I bought, but gave up after about 30 pages as the humour was very forced in the book and not especially funny and was a bit of a guide to a young girls life, dressing up, make up, going out etc, although a best seller, not a great book. At the start of this show, she really had the potential to win, but doubt she will now and may have harmed her media career. not sure it has done her weight loss DVD a lot of good as she looks ridiculously skinny and unhealthy (lack of food in there doesn't help).

Adam who has done ok with Emmerdale, seems like a nice guy but quite annoying with that over the top laugh - will he get more work outside Emmerdale??? Who knows.

Danny Baker is exactly what i thought he would be...

Other contestants in the past, like Gillian Mckeith had a bit of a successful niche before, then came on the show and killed all credibility and likeablity after, although was great to watch her annoy the other camp mates.

Mark Wright did really well from it, which launched his career post TOWIE. Same with Fern, but Helen Flannigan didn't come across well.

Anyone else changed their feelings about someone from before the show since seeing them on I'm a Celeb?

I was really disappointed last year with Yvette and Tony.

Tony was under extreme duress from Lady C, so no wonder he was cranky, although he has been like that on other shows too.

I loved Mel before she went in but what a shocker she turned out to be. Conversely, I've warmed to Ola after SCD

She hated him and was very rude to him a lot and to hold that in when you are tired and hungry is extreme, but he did blow a few times. Don;t get me wrong, i don't particularly like him, but she did wind him up a lot.

Surely if he's been like that on other shows then it's nothing to do with Lady C, and he is quite simply the arsehole that he appeared to be. Lady C was no angel but I for one never believed her to be the instigator/aggressor that she was painted as. She certainly had a tendency to go too far, and some of it was indefensible, but I think a lot of the time she was provoked because they knew that she'd blow up.

Lady C put a lot of noses out of joint because she didn't know who they were, wouldn't blow smoke up their arse and wouldn't play their game. Tony Hadley showed himself up to be and arrogant egotist, and Yvette Fielding was just a disgrace.

I see your point that it can be a lottery, but there is a lot to gain as well as lose. Several people I know of had never heard of Scarlett and absolutely love her now. As for Adam, he's been totally brilliant and I'd love him to win. I'd say there are as many winners as losers when it comes to I'm a Celebrity (not including last year which was awful).

I agree, hence why I said it is a lottery where you also don't know the outcome and gave examples of people that had done well and not so well.

Adam has been funny and a bit annoying so could go either way for him.

That is why I put the proviso of "but he has been like that on other shows too, which obviously means that it may just be him being an arse.

Me too I like Ola, the show though shows them all in a new light unless their very good actors for the duration of the show.

I'll second that, if it hasn't been already. Well said. Totally agree with you.

Couldn't agree more on all counts.

Tony was a massive disappointment for me; as I had a bit of a thing for him when I was younger. Of course Lady C was hard work, but I thought he came out of those exchanges as the nastier of the two.

This year, of those I know:

Very impressed by Lisa and Ola. Like both of these a lot and wish we could see more of them.

Unsurprised and slightly amused by Adam. He's very daft but likeable in small doses.

Find Wayne a little dull but nice enough.

Martin's a pain in the ass but very, very funny; particularly in how much he winds up the rest of them. I can't see any bad in him. He's just daft and socially unskilled. (always fascinates me how many people who have done so well in life have so few social skills!).

Very disappointed in Scarlett. And no - it's NOT just because of the favourable edit. I find her quite self-centred and not nearly as funny as I expected her to be. Actually, I don't find her funny at all on this.

Danny. Hmm. I admire him because he's got a good strong, positive outlook and has been through a lot. I do find him a little callous though. I think he'll do anything to get the laughs and affection of the rest no matter who he has to diminish to do so.

I quite like Carol though - again - haven't seen nearly enough of her. I think she's done OK so far in terms of public perception because it seems she wasn't exactly taken to the hearts of the nation over the years. Like how smart and sassy she is.

I didn't know Jordan or Joel or Sam before. I like all three but find Jordan and Sam a little dull. AGAIN - we don't see very much of them so it's hard to tell. I do like Joel a lot. He's probably my favourite.
