On the wings of love - best rhumbas and waltzes
In view of the fact that things are a bit quiet I thought I'd start nostalgia fest early this week because I think we've got possibly our last examples of both this weekend. Waltzes include Viennese versions which I think everyone still in apart from Ed has done.

Ones I love and remember:
Rachel and Vincent's FANTASTIC Rhumba. Lisa Snowdon (didn't like her at all) did a wonderful VW in a beautiful dress. Jodie Kidd's Waltz was charming and memorable. Off the top of my head. There's loads more, but these are the ones I remember first. |

Cherie Lunghi's rumba - never bettered IMO.
Natalie Gumede's waltz comes to mind, too - complete with neck roll. |

Nothing ever has (and probably never will) better Rachel Stevens's rumba. I normally hate them and it is my all time favourite Strictly dance.

Loved Kara & Artem's rumba (Rachel's also, and Danny's this series actually).
Harry Judd, Abbey Clancy, Alesha Dixon delivered on the waltz/VW front for me. |

Alesha and Matthew's viennese waltz is still my favourite ever. No props, no gimmicks, just enchanting dancing.

My favourite VW was Kellie and Kevin's Oom pah pah from Oliver as it was different. I also enjoyed Judge Rinder's this year.

Has to be Kara and Artem's rumba. Others came close but for those two (at the time) it truly was the dance of love, complemented by Kara wearing my favourite SCD dress ever ..

I usually loathe Rumba with a passion, for me the best was Jay & Aliona's, for the first time I just "got" the dance, and it didn't make want to cringe. Out of the others, Danny & Oti this series was pretty good, and I appreciated Kara & Artem's, but more because of their relationship.
VW - Harry & Aliona's and Scott & Natalie's Halloween. Waltz - only one Ive ever watched again was Jay & Aliona's - not because it was technically perfect, but it made me realise how much potential he had. |
