What did Danny say about talking to the producers?

Just wondered if anyone could clarify what Danny said when talking to Ant and Dec? Am sure he said something along the lines of being a great fan of the show, having watched it regularly and he spoke with the producers each day when he was in there, to tell them how they could improve the show. Can anyone confirm this?
Also it's a shame that footage wasn't shown of him and Larry singing old songs, even if the were a bit 'blue' , surely would've been entertaining, shows how much gets edited out!

I took it to mean that he made his suggestions out loud, directed at the producers. Either in the bush telegraph or just in general around camp.

I bet they loved that.

That comment confirmed to me why I'm glad he was first out. Martin and Danny are like two unruly schoolboys. Martin, you love, because he's the kid who says let's all play up in class, and they all just say in a happy way "Shut up Martin". Danny, on the other hand, is the kid you can't stand, because he gives a running commentary of why the school is run like it is, and how he would change it, and tries to have meetings with the headmaster to say "Sir, might I suggest you do your job this way."

shame they didn't listen to him, the trials couldn't be any more tedious the way they do it

Wasn't there an older male celebrity in a previous series who was camp entertainer either with their singing or some other act that they would do in the mornings. We never saw this and was never aware of it until after this celebrity was voted off early doors and all the ones that followed him commented on it

I think that may have been the DJ Mike Read

Oh god I agree!

I haven't watched this show for years but I watched some of it this time when I saw Danny Baker was on it because I like Danny's radio show a lot.

I really didn't expect that I was going to FF through the trials! But tedious is the word.

They would need to pay for broadcast rights. Peter Andre with insania on the other hand. Lol.

Mike Reid said he wrote a camp newspaper everyday (The Jungle Drum - you just can't beat it) and couldn't understand why it was never shown. There's a man who doesn't understand reality TV.

The editing didn't help - Ant and Dec accompanied his departure with a montage of shots of him looking knackered or nodding off, to the tune of There's No One Quite Like Grandma. (Evening Standard)

Spot on. That part of the interview just confirmed to me what I thought about Danny all along - that he is an obnoxious, loud, pompous, know it all control freak who always thinks his way is the right way. I imagine the Producers were rolling their eyes when he was giving them the gift of his expertise.

He writes terrific books though, I have to say. It's just the bumptious persona when you see him in the flesh that grates.
