Why was there always going to be a story at some point? Have you known Football is apparently rife with paedophiles for a while then?
More so when you consider that any real checks would have been bought in relativity recently. The odds of there not being numinous cases would have been very high. |

Its perfectly logical that will all the children involved with football for generations that some degree of child abuse was going to come out. Its just basic maths really.

So not if they have daughter? Talk about scaremongering?
Thus far, it's only been males that have been interfered with. If just one child speaks out after their parents do as i've suggested, then i'm happy to be "scaremongering". Quote:

To me, lots of children playing sport doesnt automatically equate that the sport has always been rife with paedophiles, certainly not without some previous proof. To me it is a shocking story in that....im shocked by it. Which was the whole point i was questioning as to why it wouldnt be shocking to most.

Id ask anyone that has apparently always thought it was obvious that there is so much child abuse in football exactly what they have done about it and who they have reported it to.

Its shocking because people have not really thought about it like they did not with the many historic cases in entertainment but that should have been a massive wake up call to people and it seems it was not. We as a society have a wonderful talent of ignoring the cases of these sort of things happening as shown by Jimmy Saville alone |

How many people have had contact with enough contact with a certain club at a certain time to do so? You cannot walk into a police station and say " a case of child abuse happened at x club at y time involving z person" and randomly pick a club a date and person. You have to have seen something or have an idea of something that's happened. There is a massive difference between not being surprised these sort of things happening and having prove to report anything |

The whole point i made was that it is clearly going to be a shocking story and not something people should be blase about and "why the big shock that it's being exposed now" is clearly a silly statement to have made. |

Which is the point. Im not taking about on the balance of probabilities something may have or probably would have been happening. Im talking about from reading here some people are saying its obvious its been happening all along and yet have apparently done nothing about it.

The abuse of course is shocking and scale is of course shocking and was always going to be a massive story but that its happened and that its come out? With recent history I not sure we can really can say its a shock sadly |

It is slightly surprising that the police did not investigate to determine if there were any other instances in his background. The legal firm that are at the centre of these allegations confirm that they are already pursuing actions against individuals, clubs and organisations across a wide variety of sports and activities, not just football but for some reason only those relating to football are being carried out in public. |

Ex-youth football coach Barry Bennell, who is at centre of a sex abuse scandal, has been taken to hospital after an incident attended by police.

Am I right in saying one of Bennell's victims was recently sacked by the police over rape accusations?

Unlikely if the police attended, more likely an assault, but it's all speculation.

They say you shouldn't judge a book by the cover, but if you had Eric Bristow in a lineup and had to point out who was most likely to talk that kind of shit

Bristow is an absolute disgrace, he should never work in the media again.
Sickening. |

Sky moved swiftly to get rid, as they should.
When people ask why victims of crimes like this didn't just step forward at the time as if the easiest thing in the world, it's the prevaling attitude of people like Bristow and countless others like him. |

I'd imagine there are plenty of people explaining it away as him just being a bit old school and 'telling it like it is', the mantra of the stupid.

It must be absolutely sticking to be taken advantage of the way quite a few children have been, they must not know who to turn to or what to say or do.
You look to adults for advice, and to be guided by them, but if an adult is the one taking advantage of you, then that must dent your trust in them to help you out tremendously. So if you don't feel that you can speak out, then people with no knowledge of such situations like Eric are just rubbing salt into their wounds. He just has no idea whatsoever of the pure torture that these people have gone through throughout their whole lives, living with what they have been through. His comments are just sickening on every single level. |
