Me too, I've done a complete U-turn. Perhaps - a little like David Gest - we needed to see enough of him to "get" him (not that I'm suggesting he's as good as David, but he's no longer the Petulant Manbaby he was. )

I'm the same, I have NEVER looked at Martin like that on HUNH, but now, he is rough round the edges and has some stubble , I find him rather come hither!

I'm finding there's an inverse relationship between Martin & Larry - I started off fancying Larry and disliking Martin.....they are swapping places in my affections!

lets face it he never really was "that bad" to start with

its what other people made him, he didnt go in like Danny who blew smoke up everyones arse and since then Larry seems to want sheep like Wayne to dislike him just for suggesting things that they end up doing anyway

Well, I don't 'fancy' either of them but I know what you mean. There was a bloke in the pub last night who was the spit of Larry. He only needed the hat and red trousers.

I met David Gest just after he was in IAC

What a lovely guy he was, nice and kind he made time for people who I know other celebs would never bother with

Awww. I'm jealous you met him, what a great guy he was. IIRC there was a documentary about him (or perhaps it was an IAC follow-up prog) where he was seen out and about in London, being feted by all as the lovely person he was. He was quite bowled over by people's fondness of him.

Nope he really really managed that all by himself I'm sure he's aware enough of how the GBP love a victim. Those pouts are well rehearsed.

He's far better now that he knows it won't be tolerated, that the show isn't like Big Brother as he assumed and he's able to enjoy the experience.
A pleasing transformation for a socially inept emotionally immature man but of course he knows what the campmates think of his behaviour and credit to him for not being stupid enough to carry it on and his ability to make an adult effort when he wants votes.
I hope it's real and it continues in real life.

David was a lovely guy. Him and his appearance on IAC were completely unique and soooo damned funny!

Initially I felt a mixture of irritation, pity & embarrassment for Martin & still do but not to the same extent.
I think this has been a fabulous experience for him, he seems to, imo, have learned a lot about himself, he's managed to take a step back from situations that don't involve him, he's stopped trying to "people please" has developed a thicker skin & according to the other camp mates he does seem easier to be around.
As for the health benefits, he's definitely reaping the rewards of jungle life.

Strange how people who are selfish, odd and completely self-centred are called quirky. Martin to me comes over as a spoilt brat who has been pampered all his life and finds it very difficult to be a team player. Whenever anyone else has something that he wants he gets very jealous and does not even try to hide it.

Hopefully out very soon!

Excellent observant summary. He still isn't that comfortable to watch expecting another cringe moment when he shows himself up again. I sincerely hope he doesn't and continues to "grow". My therapist needs showing through. Every camp mate in there can't possibly be wrong about him and it's to his and their credit that he's making an effort to change. Lovely Lisa was spot on in her interview. He has a childlike innocence, he steams into situations, doesn't have consideration for other people and you have to handle him with different gloves.

Good news last night that he's even not needing to use his inhaler so much. A combination of eating less and being made to exercise and learning how to relax and enjoy himself.
As for fanciable? Nooooooooooooooooo.......................................never in a million years.

I still use 'Holy Focaccia' in my everyday conversation. I loved him on the programme.

Very interesting change in Martin's health. Makes you wonder how much our NHS could save on drugs if people ate less and exercised more. Of course they would need the time to do that rather than slaving a way behind a desk for 10 hours a day. It is probably a lot easier when you are restricted from accessing food and there is nothing else to do apart from chores!

I've liked Martin since the beginning, but more so after Larry layer into him and then made the remark about Martin being a snob. He is exactly as he is on HUTH. A really nice guy IMO, Larry however is not. Larry and Danny together did their best to isolate Martin and turn the others against him. Fortunately, apart from Wayne( who I hope goes tonight) the others seem to be taking to him now. He's had a rough ride so far, I hope he stays till the end.

Something the NHS plug away at, really can work and not enough people listen.

Remember David's maid 'Vaginacka Seamen'? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jrcZs_NQkY
His laid back attitude and crazy imagination were a one off for IAC.
Some of it.

His friends hotel for albino people only.

Completely agree especially about Lisa, what a refreshing change to watch a group of people try & embrace Martin & his funny little ways & not make him feel even more of an outsider & ostracize him completely.
I know this series has lacked the usual arguments but personally I'm enjoying watching people get on & friendships develop.

I thought I'd seen it all, but women freely admitting to fancying Martin on a public forum ?
As Ann_666 said, never in a million years. Since he came into the jungle, I've been baffled that his wife at one time & possibly still does, looks at him & thinks ..........Phwoar.

He's by no means ugly but imo, he has absolutely zero sex appeal.

Blame the awful man's several days of infantile boundaryless behaviour, not the campmates or viewers who didn't enjoy having to suffer it and watch a middle aged man making such a childish idiot of himself.
Some of us without any RTV based admiration or knowledge of who this person is, apart from an embarrassing cringeworthy mess to begin with. Whose behaviour and tantrums even his wife mocked and laughed at and revealed more of his infantility. I can only assume she fails to understand him too.

There's zero comparison between him hosting a scripted and controlled reality show and his personal spontaneous interaction and glaring lack of adult ability to relate to 11 other people he had to live and cooperate with in an isolated, challenging and deprived environment. Where do you or anyone else even begin to assume they can be compared?

Glad to see people coming around.

He had a pretty bad first episode, but from then on he's been great. Voting to save every day until he leaves.
