Well said. I genuinely don't understand the attitude many have towards him on here. Agreed, he didn't come across well at first, but he entered the camp with Danny, and I can see how he might have felt eclipsed by Danny's strong personality which at times came across as aggressive and rude. Very difficult to deal with when you are joining a camp of people who have become a close-knit group.

I think Martin is doing extremely well now and he's getting my vote.

Honestly, If I were a Martin fan (and I kind of am now, despite myself!), I'd be praising him for the way he's redeemed himself rather than fiercely and illogically - considering the evidence to the contrary - denying his past!

Also, a good redemption is a very handy thing to have under your belt on a RTV show...

From what I've read most FMs are saying what you're saying....man baby, poor social skills & people are slowly warming to him, only they've managed to say so in a less aggressive manner.

The camp-mates seem to be seeing a better side of him and moving on, so why can't we? I don't think anyone is denying that he was a bit of a pain at first, well I'm not anyway.

He was quirky and funny and a little odd - but by no stretch of the imagination a nightmare.

Having said that - now that he has been assimilated by the Borg Collective that is the rest of the camp - I suspect he will lose votes!

I agree and the campmates and every commentator and even his own wife LOL, that's the most amusing part!

You see it how you wish just as I do and I will comment on him and anyone esle as I see fit. I prefer realism and giving credit where it's due. Good for Martin and he's acknowledged he was coming across as insulting and arrogant. It's good to see any uncomfortably needy, defensive emotionally stuck adult growing into a healthier and happier state of maturity. He's far more able to relax and enjoy himself and without question, none of it could happen if he was with people he hasn't learnt he can trust. Credit to them too.

He is the only campmate that's had anything close to the dreaded J-word, there I said it.

After a nightmare first episode in terms of how he came across and his interpersonal relationship with everyone else there, he has really come out of his shell and he's the only one there that has a genuine, legit personality that isn't covered by a veneer of camera-pouting fakery. The experience has done him good. Genuinely.

Seeing camp mates evolve is akin to seeing celebs improve each week on SCD. Surely this is the main purpose of these shows so why can't the producers just let things be and take their natural course? Every year, there are complaints about favouritism on these shows.

Martin irritates me, he's Hermione from Harry Potter "It's Levi-O-sa!!!!".

In saying that he's a pretentious, overly sensitive, desperate to fit in with the cool kids twonk, he's second to someone else in there for me in who makes me skin itch most.

Also we are only judging by the gang this year, who've been a great bunch, he'd never get on any "worst campmates ever" list.

More "reality". Finding some way to not need the constant use of arrogance and insults against FM's would be a good place to start discovering some of the pleasing benefits of reality.

Yes, I think we're seeing the real Martin now. In the first few days he was reacting to feeling out of his depth and trying to cope with the hostility of the others, imo.
