Anyone sent their iPhone 6S off for the Battery replacement programme?

Mine and my wife's is going in for the battery replacement that they have recently said could be done for free if your device is randomly turning off at high percentages. Ours have turned off at 40-50% sometimes! Haven't had a problem since iOS 10.1/10.1.1 though? But according to the articles I've read online our phones could be the small percentage of iPhone 6s with a defective battery as they were manufactured on a certain month.

Booking a Genius Bar appointment was proving impossible and they didn't have any batteries in stock until next week,so I've set up the mailing option where they send a box out to you then you send it off(via UPS). Should get it back within 5 days.

Just wondered if anyone else has had this done to their 6S?

I've done it, sent the phone off 4 days ago. The tracking says they're looking at it now, suspect I won't get it back till middle of next week. Worth it though to get the battery replaced, it only switched off once at 55% - but I've always thought the battery was draining quicker than my previous 6 did.

Yeah mines only done it twice in about 2months but the fact of the matter is, it has done it and it shouldn't, so if Apple are offering a free battery replacement then I'm taking them up on it!

We sent our iPad in a couple of weeks back aswell(OTA update, stuck on connect to iTunes screen). They sent out UPS with a box then I had to call them to arrange a time to pick it up, we had it back after 3-4days so it was very quick.

This time they sent a box via Royal Mail, I only requested it from Apple yesterday afternoon, and I was surprised to see it on the carpet by the door this morning! However Apple said they won't have a stock of batteries until December 15th so advised me not to send it until a few days before 15th December. I haven't got another decent phone to replace it while it's being repaired so I don't want to send it off until they've got the batteries in.

Did they not say anything to you about battery stock levels? Maybe they have some out your way. The address mine would be going to is Lutterworth?

I have an appointment with the Genius Bar for tomorrow for my 6s Plus. It has one of the affected serial numbers, it was produced in September 2015 and it has turned off randomly a few times with various battery percentages (between 20% and 80%). Hope it goes well.

Let us know how it goes, and how long it takes them(I've heard you should get it back the same day)

Was there not any talk about battery availability? When I enquired at our local Apple Store they told me they don't have any batteries in until next week.

No, I haven't enquired about battery availability. It is seems to be global though because I read that there is a shortage in other countries too.

The problem is Apple's announcement doesn't mention anything about 6s Plus units. But when I spoke to them in chat they said that I am eligible, so I am hoping for the best.

I've got my genius bar appointment booked for this thursday afternoon and it'll take about an hour apparently. Be nice to have a brand new battery again. (at least you'd assume it was brand new !)

surely it would have to be, otherwise all these people getting them replaced and looking forward to brand new battery life performance would be really annoyed if the same problems occurred through using used batteries, i know i would be.
