OK - so this is new to me this morning. I only heard of Beauty School because Jeremy from BB was on it but I've never watched it. What was she like on there?

This's starting to make more sense now. So she wasn't someone who just got a lucky break on gogglebox? She's yet another one of those from that huge holding bay of desperate wannabes who will go on any 'reality' show going. Come Dine With Me, ad nauseum. The same place all the TOWIE lot are from and that's often why they know each other - those screechers on civillian Big Brother are another lot from the same conveyor belt. Yawn.

She was alright, she seemed abit more confident on that shop. She was more like Charlotte Cosby, all over the place, those worthless jokes. She was probably more one of the normal ones to be on there TBH.

I'd never heard of her before & haven't watched Gogglebox so assumed she was just a member of the public with no reality TV experience. 😱 It appears she more reality savvy than the rest of them 😉

She is so outspoken and forthright on GB. This little me act doesn't convince me.

Yes, she conveniently forgets the fact that she previously appeared and applied for, several reality TVs have before she was 'plucked from obscurity' to do googlebox.

I'm not sure what the aim is of this thread or your link. When did she claim to have only appeared on Gogglebox? A show which has gained her some recognition.
Beauty School Cop Outs was actually televised. A minor one off reality show which wasn't a secret from the outside from the world. A show which, it's obvious by the surprise on here, didn't gain her recognition. If she's appeared on any other reality TV show, the same would seem to apply.
Is it not safe to say that as far as any measure of being "discovered" is concerned, it was her appearing on Gogglebox?

The aim of the thread was to find out what she was like on it. Clearly stated in the OP.

I was completely shocked to find she was on it, to be honest; having assumed, as most people did (I think) that her media career began with Gogglebox. She has spoken on IAC about her surprise at being famous and she doesn't speak on this subject, to me, as someone who has clearly actively pursued the RTV route. An RTVivist, if you will.

To play devil's advocate here, I can completely understand why she has said she was discovered on Gogglebox.

Firstly, Beauty School Cop Out was a complete flop and didn't make a reality TV star of anyone. Nobody knew Jeremy thingy until CBB. Nobody knew Scarlett until Gogglebox.

She DID go back to a 'normal' job before (and during) Gogglebox. She was working in a call centre I think. Also, don't forget that it was her family selected to do Gogglebox - not specifically her. I'm sure she played a big part in the Moffatt appeal but it isn't all solely down to her.

I am not a fan of Scarlett, never have been on Gogglebox, but I do think some people are going out of their way to levy unfounded accusations at her.

She's a famewhore.. Geordie Shore is her next stop before she settles with some rich man who wants her.

I dread to think how daily news reports of tragic events affects you if finding out some random RTV celeb appeared on some other random RTV prog without you being aware of it has left you in a state of shock.

Yes, completely shocked. She's been talking on IAC like someone who has left home for the first time ever; never saw a television camera before the Gogglebox crew arrived and is completely awestruck and overwhelmed by being a TV star. So completely shocked is about right!

Sorry Mrs Checks that's not strictly true. I've heard Scarlett tell the story many times of how she got on gogglebox: she had a friend who was a researcher on the production team of gogglebox.

If it helps at all, she's actually really irritating me now.

Don't know at lot about her, however, what I've seen on this show, I cannot stand her.

I hadn't a clue who she was and not shocked about her..She's obviously had little TV experience or mixed with well known people. So yes, I can understand her being over-awed.
Obviously she's a Geordie which seems to qualify contestants to annoy the hell out of viewers by being given immediate star billing. I wonder why?
She's ok, not someone I care about seeing again, which is of course on the cards like last year's star billed Geordie, zero talent Vicky. Now jointly "hosting" the Extra show with the other gabbling and painfully clueless amateurs.
Has she appeared in anything else? I don't know. Regrettably, lack of talent and being known for nothing other than grossly over supplied cheap as chips RTV seems to be with us to stay. IAC is the only one I watch now.

I have to admit having her on my screen so much of the last two weeks is wearing rather thin.....There are far more interesting and experienced people being sidelined again.
Hearing her and disingenuous others laughingly singing Martins praises last night after they've had their first sniff of public opinion was a tiny bit sickening, way too predictable and transparent. .

I don't know why they're saying she's very beautiful.

For me, she has a face that would stop a clock.

It was more a response to you saying the selection for gogglebox was her family and not specifically her.
It wasn't like her mum and dad sorted it out without her knowledge, she arranged it with her friend! If it wasn't for her they wouldn't be on gogglebox.

I think it, along with the appearance on Beauty School that patsylimierick pointed out, shows that she isn't this ingenue overwhelmed by the dazzling celebrity of a bloke off emmerdale, (oh the glamour) as she keeps making out she is.

I have to respectfully disagree with you really. I don't think the complete flop that was Beauty School Cop Outs gave Scarlett many opportunities for rubbing shoulders with celebs. She will have been paid pennies for it. She went back to a normal job afterwards and was living a normal life. I don't think she's being disingenous by getting starstruck or whatever.
