I have to respectfully disagree with you really. I don't think the complete flop that was Beauty School Cop Outs gave Scarlett many opportunities for rubbing shoulders with celebs. She will have been paid pennies for it. She went back to a normal job afterwards and was living a normal life. I don't think she's being disingenous by getting starstruck or whatever.”

At no point did I suggest you said " her mum & dad sorted it out without her". You did however say the following:

which was the bit i responded to, because her arranging it with her mate on the production team is pretty much solely down to her.

Whether the show was a success is irrelevant it shows she's been desperate to get on the telly for some time. Patsylimerick saying about the Beauty School thing was news to me too and this also shows she's been involved with reality tv for longer than many people might have known about.

You don't think she's being disingenuous, and I do think she's disingenuous.
She's a worse actor than Adam!!!

I can't highlight on this phone but I agree with you planets, disingenuous.

With respect, the quote below does read like you suggested I thought that. You used those exact words. I do apologise if I misread your intention:

Anyway, we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think Scarlett is faking being starstruck etc. I don't think the revelation of her being on Beauty School Cop Outs means she's been lying about her excitement at being on I'm a Celeb. I don't think being on a previous flop reality show and being excited to be on I'm a Celeb are mutually exclusive, and as I've explained, she's not lying when she said she had a normal job and was living with her parents last year.

I do definitely think she sometimes exaggerates her reactions because she thinks it makes good TV, but that is more her comments during trials (the sort of stuff she does on Gogglebox) or her reactions to other people's comments and jokes. She's not the only one who does that, either.

*WARNING the following is completely light hearted and not a personal attack on anyone who cares about Scarlett*

Oh apology accepted

I thought the full stop and starting a new line was enough of a clue that the sentence had ended and a new thought was beginning. However in future i'll be sure to put a disclaimer as the exclamation marks clearly didn't demonstrate it was a light hearted comment.

Personally, I think years of exposure to bad acting on "reality" tv makes people like Scarlett unable to understand the concept of subtle or natural behaviour. Pantomime is the norm.

Oh planets

1) I am not at all offended or annoyed or whatever you seem to think! Absolutely did not see it as a personal attack, no apology needed. I thought we were having a respectful discussion!

2) I don't care about Scarlett, as I said up thread I was playing devil's advocate. I think it's not as simple as previous reality show = automatically fake

3) This is totally cheeky but... it doesn't matter that you started a new sentence. Your paragraph was entirely a response to me, and your motive for writing that sentence was presumably to illustrate that I was incorrect. However, you took it further than what I had suggested, thus making it seem that you believed I had written or at least thought that. It was kind of a moot point really because it was hypothetical and I hadn't suggested it - so the only obvious conclusion I could make is that the one I did.

Really sorry but it needed saying

No hard feelings, genuinely I'm not annoyed
