And I agree you could well be right, time will tell, there will always be those who seek to interpret even the most even handed arrangement as an injustice to be fought, that is unavoidable.

Again I agree. As a remain voter I have zero respect for those "remoaners" who only seem interested in hurling bigotry at "Brexiters" (as I think my posting history would show).

At the end of the day the vast majority of voters cast their vote in good faith for what they believed is in the UK's best interest, It's time we recognised that and put the loons on both sides back in their box before they conspire to burn the world down around us.

Absolutely and thank you so much for the welcome. I actually think it is so important to recognise the 48% and show proper respect for their views but also we as a country need to follow the majority decision which was to leave. Yes, the instruction to leave did not say anything officially about what a negotiated deal would look like but again this fear from the people I don't believe is against Parliament having that say - it's more a fear of certain elements of it who will undoubtedly try to water an exit down to a "stay in all but name" which whatever it says or doesn't say on the ballot paper isn't what was being implied would happen during the campaign by either side.

Must from now on every 5 years we have not just "Conservative" or "Labour" on the election ballot but also exactly what they are meant to do, and how, by when? Should there be a clause which states "Tories will not raise VAT above 50% or else there will be a re-vote". We have to be able to trust Parliament to follow the will of a majority vote and it just feels to me like this whole situation has come out of distrust for politicians as a whole and whilst remainers have a right to their views there's quite a fine line between defining how it should be done, and trying to destroy/reverse the vote by any which way they can.”

Certain elements should be trying to water down Brexit. 48% voted to Remain and someone has to represent these people.

Brexit will happen, but the type of Brexit needs debate and that needs everyone to speak openly about what they want to happen next.

I agree. However for this to happen the daily deluge of hatred needs to stop. And soon.

Maybe there should be a Christmas "ceasefire"
A lot of people who post on these forums feel very strongly either way, and opinions are not going to be changed. So it ends up in mindless sniping.
The rest of the UK however is a different story, we need strong, honest, and thoughtful politicians to make it work. Unfortunetly i dont see Many out there who fit the bill.

Leavers voted to be discriminated against in the EU. They should be happy if they end up having fewer rights than Irish, Norwegians or Romanians.

No, Leavers voted for the UK to leave the EU. I am perfectly happy to have different rights to any EU citizen just as I am happy to have different rights to a US citizen and all will have different rights to UK citizens. It is the rights that UK citizens expect to regain that is the important issue.
