I am wondering why so many people can watch the cruelty to the creatures and animals, on this programme. The so called celebrities who eat, poke and stamp on the poor creatures and what for " MONEY AND FAME" should be ashamed of themselves, short arsed Ant and Dec seem to love it as well. Does anyone agree??

Put the so called celebs in with animals their own size and watch them run a mile.

I'd much prefer trials that didn't involve any interaction with animals/critturs, etc.
I feel so sorry for the poor things, as they must be bred for the show to be on hand in the thousands for the tasks.
The best trials this season have been the ones that didn't feature insects or animals imo.

I certainly agree with you on that.

I don't care about the life of a cockroach/mealworm etc.

But the critter tasks are boring. More variety needed.

Maybe you don`t care but a lot of people do. So cruel.

I hate the tasks that involve animals/insects. The producers of this show must have a very limited imagination, not to mention a complete lack of compassion.

So why are you watching them for an hour every night?

They love their pay-cheques

But yes it does seem unnecessary now. I'm surprised this show still gets away with using animals.

I certainly don`t watch it, I`m only going by what I see in the papers. I would rather watch paint dry for an hour than watch animal and creature cruelty.

I don't think they will for much longer. Some high profile people - Chris Packham from Countryfile for one, has waded in with very damning condemnation.

If you think what they screen is cruel, you should see the unedited footage!

(I'm guessing here, but it's logical to assume they would avoid showing any footage that seemed likely to cause real outrage)

I agree, at times it makes for uncomfortable viewing.

They should starve them for the 3 weeks, it would make for a better show.

I agree with Chris, I prefer the physical challenges myself. I hate any cruelty to animals and it is cruel. I turn them over now.

Would you feel the same about head lice or threadworms? I bet you'd kill them off quick enough!

You can imagine in about twenty years time in a fond lookback to tv of the 2010s show the 2030 equivalent of kerry katona being horrified that people ate live animals on national tv.

I have no problem with the eating tasks as long as the animal is dead. Anything else involving animals is just cruel and unnecessary

I felt the same, especially this time when it was a live scorpion.

It is the rats i feel most sorry for, they can easily break bones and tails if they are thrown around. Very bright, curious and social little creatures.
