Got to disagree with you my friend! I know Darcey and her grandparents were great friends of ours. She is delightful ma nasty piece of work she certainly is not. I agree she was wrong speaking out about Ed though.

Craig said exactly the same thing to the press a couple of weeks ago but no one had a go at him about it. Basically, wheat Craig and Darcey were saying is if Ed is in the dance off, he'll be out, which is fair enough. He's improved over the series and he's entertaining, but his dancing isn't as good as the other remaining contestants. The judges couldn't honestly keep Ed in if he landed in the dance off. Besides, by Darcey expressing her opinion (which she's entitled to do) she's probably ensured more people will vote for Ed.

Her judging is crap , biased toward hunky blokes . But more importantly she should not be slating the remaining dancers on stupid radio shows and in interviews while the series is ongoing . It shows her real lack of class that she would stoop to that . Trotting around interviews mouthing off in support of her favourites is tacky . After the series ? Fine, go for it . But not while those dancers are still giving 100% to the show .

Darcy is the fairest and kindest judge SCD has ever had. Finding another female, who is well liked and entertaining will be hard for the producers should she ever leave. A truly beautiful person inside and out

Heatherbell, Your comment is crap, you are suffering from amnesia (or you are deliberately dense) because you have obviously forgotten Arlene's slavering over hunky men, you are judgmental because you are calling radio shows stupid without providing due grounds or contexts or even names, and you are using emotive words and phrases like "real lack of class", "mouthing off" and 'tacky", which makes me think you must be either "smug" or "fake". Why can't you be "non-existent"? You've never even met Darcey Bussell!

Well I'll take your word for it Fred because I know you and you are a straight arrow . She just frustrates me dribbling over guys and speaking about contestants off show so I tend to consider it only fair to diss her right back in a similar manner .

Never understood how Alesha Dixon was deemed qualified enough to be a judge when I believe she didn't have any dance experience other than winning SCD?

Darcy struggled a little in serioes one but has always tried to give a balanced review of the performance.

All Darcey is qualified to judge on is 'armography' and fluidity . There is no ballet in Strictly . The real judging is done by the judges trained in ballroom and latin . Simple as that . Darcey is just there for decoration really .

For goodness sake, she is a dancer judging dancing and performance. Ed would be bottom in her eyes.

I'm not sympathetic to the OP but ... How do Darcey's ballet skills equip her to judge ballroom? On this forum, this series, someone remarked that Darcey's comments were ballet related rather than ballroom. She's by no means the only judge past or present to lack ballroom nous, but lack it she seems.

She seems competent at judging lines and a good hold. She seems fairly knowledgeable about footwork, probably really swotted up on it.

She is equal, I would say, to Craig and Bruno. It's only really Len that has proper, lived it, experience.

And most non dancers know Ed is just about the worst in dancing terms on the show.

Uncalled for. I would have said the same had it been Craig, Len or Bruno saying it.

I might have agreed with you before but I'm not sure. I think Bruno's very instinctive. Craig might come under the same umbrella as Darcey.

I think it's a big issue to have non-ballroom dancers judging ballroom.

Exactly . At this stage she has been on the panel long enough to pick up the jargon and know some of the more intricate things to watch out for , but frankly so do I and most of the regulars on here . Yet she keeps flouncing on set and pontificating as if she is the queen of ballroom with years of ballroom dancing under her belt .
I'm sure she's a nice person , but not a ballroom expert in any way .

If it was up to every judge Ed would be out. They all give him their lowest marks.

I don't think so, they all bring something to the show and to get back to the op, every single judge would have said that he is the worst dancer.

She did nothing wrong and brings some class to the programme. She is also usually never unkind for the sake of it unlike the other three at times.
