Darcey being cast as the "black swan", really? I just want her to judge the dancing and give constructive criticism. Her comment bank includes, very clean, love the connection with your partner, just watch the footwork and her favourite lift your core. We need a judge who will give a more precise critique of the dancers

Who cares?

She's beautiful, knowledgable and incredibly talented..... things which seem to annoy some of the bitter fishwives on here

I don't like what Darcey said. There is a difference.

I haven't seen anything in the press that the other judges have said like this. They may have, and if they had I would have commented on it. But I haven't, so I didn't.

Stop trying to make something out of nothing, please.

I happened to see an article and I commented on it. Had it been another article, about Len for example, I would have said the same. But I didn't.

Craig also said that if Ed is in the bottom he'll be out, which is fair enough. The judges are there to judge the dancing, not popularity. And, yes, they are allowed to have opinions and express them.

I haven't seen that article.

Perhaps the media made it out to be more than it was.

But, really, they are there to give an opinion - when they are on the judging panel on the show. When asked things by stirring media, or DJs, I think they should be more politic.

Gosh, we live in such a sensitive world! A world where people who ordinarily would loathe other people like Ed Balls, who has successfully shrugged off vitriolic comments about him for years, and now hold these same people up as some kind of precious china doll who must not be criticised! At the same time forgetting that these people get £40,000 to be told that they are crap dancers!

So Darcey Bussell, one of the world's most respected and renowned dancers, who spent six months learning about and dancing the dances that she was to be judging on the show, who has just said in an honest way "If it were up to me, Ed would be gone" is now some kind of nasty and evil person?

Can you guys actually hear your thoughts before you post? I think if posters can't handle criticism of people they support, they should get rid of their telly, their radio's, their computers and phone's and go and live in a cave all by themselves. Because they are increasingly getting offended by the most trivial and ridiculous things! I suspect some will find this post offensive and abusive such is the state of the world!

I agree - they should give their opinion on dances they've just seen, but to say if Ed was in the bottom two he would be gone whatever completely negates the purpose of the dance off. After the whole Peter Andre thing, where they were so at pains to point out it was all based on the dance off so they now have to give reasons for their choice etc., I'm surprised TPTB want the judges going around admitting that certain contestants would go no matter what happened in the DO, however obvious that may be to most people.

Darcey's COMMENTS were unprofessional. I didn't say she was a nasty or evil person. I did say that I think maybe she isn't as sweet as she comes across sometimes.

It isn't about sticking up for Ed Balls as an individual. We all know he is the worst left in.

It is about judges keeping those comments to the judging panel on a Saturday and the Len's Lens business.

Not about telling the media who they think should be gone, because that is unprofessional and unkind. No matter how bad a dancer they are.

But Ed is not participating in a dance competition for a career. It's a TV show that captures public attention. That is all. If it was a career affecting dancing tournament where the winner becomes world champion, then you'd have a point. She was asked a question, she responded. What she said was honest and had no overall bearing on anything other than to incite publicity for the show and Ed Balls.

People can't have it all ways. Those people supporting ED and wanting him to win have told us constantly that it isn't a serious dancing competition and it's just entertainment. Therefore, Darcey was just responding to a question about an entertainment show because listeners at the time were interested to hear her comments. If Ed fans now start feeling she was unprofessional, then that means they've now acknowledged that SCD is a dance contest and as such should realise that Ed has no right to be in the show because he can't dance!

Spiteful old bat last night wasn't she? Ed is on shaky ground and if he goes out this evening, we all know who gave him a push

Oh, please. Craig and other judges make these kind of comments every year. The BBC obviously doesn't mind, so it's going to keep happening.

Yet most weeks this year she's marked the women higher than the men and her marking has been some of the fairest on the show.

If anyone is biased it's Bruno who has marked the women higher on average every week even when all the other judges disagreed.

Do you know, I once knew someone who was incredibly rude, and used "sunshine" as a put down.

Guess what? It doesn't work with me. I don't know you and vice versa so you don't actually manage to insult me.

This is a discussion and debate board, not a playground, so please try to grow up and participate on here without name calling.

As it is a discussion and a debate board, I am allowed to post my views, and I felt that Darcey was behaving unprofessionally, as I feel you are behaving childishly.

Stick to the point. As I have said in another post on this thread, it may well be that the media and/or Chris Evans, probably the former, tried to embellish this. Granted, I only read it in a newspaper at the station, but that is the point of these boards, is it not, to discuss things and debate?

I wasn't aware it was a name calling playground.

That is an even worse thing to say. It makes a mockery of the dance off and the reason for having one is therefore worthless as it seems the judges have already made their decision before it happens.

Regarding Darcey, What she said could influence the public but I think only in a positive way for Ed to give her back some of her own spite

How dare she tell the truth!!

If it were on dancing ability which the DO is of course he would be out - he has been the worse dancer of those left by far!

He'll likely go tonight anyway , or might last till next week at most , but there was no need for her to put the boot in while he is still competing .
We all know he's the least accomplished dancer at this point , along with Judgey, but the public like him and admire his chutzpah in defying his limitations and giving 100% . She's being 2 faced sniping in interviews and then being sickly sweet when face to face with the victim of her nastiness .At least CRH dishes out his negativity to the dancers faces .
I'd like to see Darcey a competently learn a new routine in latin and ballroom or 9 weeks in a row . Let's see how she would cope with being dumped on for her efforts week after week .

You don't get my point, do you?

We all know it is the truth that he is the worst dancer. That is not in question.

It is unprofessional and mean to be commenting on chat shows, radio shows and in the paper about contestants in that way no matter what their ability. Does Alan Sugar do this about people in the Apprentice? Does Mary Berry comment about who should be chucked off next in the bake off because their flans are crap?

They may well do, but if they do, they shouldn't either, just like Darcey.

Criticism and comment is for the judging panel on the night.

Imagine if she had been asked if Danny was in a dance off with Louise, who would she save? It's as relevant as this situation.
