Does "Pure Imagination" fit for a foxtrot? If so, I'd be happy with the music choice anyway
Another tribute to some who has died this year, Gene Wilder. Wonder who Joanne will be? Claudia W is orange enough to be an oompa, loompa

Danny did the Argentine Tango the week before Blackpool.
He has not done an American Smooth yet

ETA Sorry Ms Babs. I've just seen your second post.
About Ed. Twas a shock indeed. I thought the way the voting appeared to be going we were looking at the winner there!

PS I'm a bit chuffed I guessed Jo &Ore having the foxtrot. I don't usually get any right

According to Ed's Twitter him and Katya were going to be dancing the Rumba to Shirley Bassey's 'This is My Life'

Oh I would've loved to have seen that!

Claudia & AJ - Salsa - Quickstep/Rumba
Danny & Oti - Tango - American Smooth/Salsa
Ed & Katya - Viennese Waltz - Foxtrot/Rumba
Judge Rinder & Oksana - Waltz - Tango/Samba
Louise & Kevin - Samba - Quickstep/Salsa
Ore & Joanne - Argentine Tango - Foxtrot/Samba

Giving Danny American Smooth in the semis could really benefit him and make him stand out.

They haven't done and AT in the semis for at least two series so I think Ore will have it this week.
Whats the current rule on what you can do in the final -you need to do anything you want t for that early enough for it not to be ruled out for the final?

Yeah I think that'll be it. Lovely song and very fitting after losing Gene this year. I think that could be a great dance for Ore. Knew they'd get the Foxtrot too as barely any have been danced this series and only he and Ed had it left.

I think Louise has the toughest selection left with before the samba and salsa to do, neither of which really seem to be her thing.

If Ore can get through this week without being in the dance-off, then he potentially has a very favourable semi-final draw - two high impact dances provided he gets them right. And a Foxtrot to Pure Imagination could be a big crowd-pleaser.

Ore will have been both Gene Kelly and Gene Wilder.
Hoping they can fit in Careful with that axe, Eugene -- would that work for a possible Argentine Tango if he gets thro????

I love that song for Ore's foxtrot. Hopefully Jo will put together a great routine. She managed a nice foxtrot routine for Scott Mills so with Ore's talent and that song ... could be a seminal week for him.

The final is

Judges choice -----------last year they picked the celebs worst dance
Celeb/pro favourite -----anything already danced
Showdance-------new dance. No rules

Last year, apparently, they weren't allowed to choose anything from the three weeks before the final.

Currently? Who the hell knows? Whatever they need it to be to try and get the choices they want I guess.

I thought that was the producers trying to force Aliona and Jay to do the Jive in the final.

So, for judge's choice:
Claudia and AJ: Cha Cha Cha (26) - Week One
Danny and Oti: Foxtrot (30) - Week Six
Judge Rinder and Oksana: Cha Cha Cha (25) - Week One
Louise and Kevin: Jive (31) or Cha Cha Cha (31) - Week One / Week Three
Ore and Joanne: Tango (25) - Week One

I assume they'll ask Louise and Kevin to do the Jive to avoid two Cha Cha Cha's if Claudia and AJ are still there. I expect Judge Rinder to be gone then.

I wonder if there might be a rumba for Claudia and AJ to Maria from West Side Story. It's quick for a slower song so suits their partnership but perhaps tests this connection the judges want for them to increase their mark from 9 to 10?

From the results show:

Ore and Joanne have the Froxtot (playing Willy Wonka, oh christ why?).
Presumably because they're dancing to Pure Imagination from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which should actually be ok for a Foxtrot.

It won't necessarily be their lowest scoring dance if there's a better angle they can hang it on. Last year Georgia did her rumba again (when her waltz scored lower) because Len bawled Giovanni out over his choreo afterwards, and Katie did quickstep (when pretty much all of her latin scored lower) because she made a big obvious mistake.

I think they'll opt for Louise's Jive though Danny's Foxtrot is slightly edgy for a finale. For Claudia they may opt for her Waltz if they don't choose Ore's or Danny's ChaCha and for the Judge if he makes it I think the AS might make the more impressive opener despite how impressive his first steps on the Strictly dance floor works. Besides it also saves Craig blaming his facial expession on nerves

Thanks but has there been a better angle for any of them? Danny's Foxtrot definitely because of the very obvious error... though will they want to go through the entire make up regime with it? Ore and Joanne's Tango has choreographical criticism behind it. What dance did Len call out AJ for his choreography? There was a week Len said Louise had plateuaed so they might pick on that one I suppose. After yesterday they could easily pick on Judge Rinder and Oksana's Rumba again.

For Louise I think it was a week before the AT. I think theirs was a rumba.

Surely they could have Danny's Foxtrot without the Hallowe'en makeup?
