Lions? Lion King? Sounds like the producers are going back to making them kids again.

So she has the Rumba in the semi? That's a tough break.
Off the top of my head I just can't wait to be king, and Hakuna Matata are the only ones I can think of vaugley fitting for a Salsa.

I don't think Rumba is bad for semi's at all because then they can follow it up with a high impact dance. Unlike other shows where they have to do Rumba with nothing supporting it.

Last year Kellie did an okay Rumba and followed it up with a brilliant American Smooth during the semis and sailed through to the finals.

I just keep thinking of Mark Benton and Iveta dancing to the Lion King.

Don't get me wrong I loved Mark but he was the comedic celeb that year. Claudia is not. She can dance.

I just hope they have the self-respect to refuse to be dressed up like lions. It would be unbelievably cute (which is what the producers seem to be pushing on them) but I can't see such a novelty dance scoring 10s.

I am sure she can do a good job of the rumba, it plays to a lot of her dancing strengths. However, the connection with AJ (or the lack there of - apprently) could be an issue.

Is a Tango or QS high impact enough? Ore, the only person she could really beat in a DO, has the AT as an option, which could be a vote winner and keep him out of the DO or be more impactful in the DO. I think they are still having a DO in the semi.

Louise can still do the Salsa. I am still pissed off that when most of the celebs hadn't even danced a Salsa or Samba, Laura had to dance a Samba with an ankle injury
and she had already danced Salsa on week 3. To make it fair, I think they should make sure all the celebs had danced a Salsa or Samba, before asking them to do the second dance. They are both similar and very hard.
I understand why you're annoyed but in fairness it would have been hard to find a dance that it would be easy is the wrong word but not hard to dance on a busted ankle. Kate Garroway really struggled dancing a QS and tango with leg injuries.

Robert said on the Scott Mills Show this afternoon that his dance this week is 'a lot more upbeat' than the Rumba. (Mind you isn't anything??) He didn't name the dance though, but sounds like a Waltz or a Tango. Definitely not an AT.
Praying to heaven he has a Tango. I wouldn't like to see a Waltz at this point unless some serious theming is going on, he needs a high impact dance now.

The Tango is the exit dance if he has that then he's toast judging by the previous weeks results!

Mmm, I'd forgot that. Hoping for a waltz, then.

So , reading through this thread, there are two confirmed

Ore with the Foxtrot

Claudia with the Salsa

And three to be revealed with the awful tunes on Tuesday

I expect Claudia did not get the Rhumba because it would have been Ed's dance this week and, at this stage, I would think the producers want to have a different dance for each couple.

I think Ed was confused. The song he said he was dancing to isn't from a musical, as far as I'm aware.

I would guess Judge Rinder has waltz and one of Danny/Louise is on tango, just because he's the likely eliminee this week and they won't want three tangos in the semis. If it's Danny on tango then I'm guessing Louise has quickstep, if it's Louise then I would put Danny on American Smooth.

I was gonna say the same - her frame in the last few ballroom dances have all got good feedback and if anything she has the technique of the ballroom and steps, the main issue seems to be seeking the dance/ getting into a character.

Gapping has never been an issue
...apart from the gap between the top of Claudia's head and the top of AJ's head.

Wayne in season 22 on DWTS did a samba to the circle of life remix which made a good samba - I know the Lion Sleeps tonight is in the film Lion King and there are many remixes of the track that you can pick a salsa out of

Week 11 Dances - Confirmed
Claudia & AJ - Salsa
Danny & Oti - Tango
Judge Rinder & Oksana - Samba
Louise & Kevin - Quickstep
Ore & Joanne - Foxtrot

Semi-Final Dances
Claudia & AJ - Quickstep or Tango / Rumba
Danny & Oti - American Smooth or Waltz / Salsa
Judge Rinder & Oksana - ...Only have ballrooms left, so I'm guessing when they decided the dance order they didn't think he'd get to the semis. If he does get through (which seems massively unlikely to me, but stranger things have happened) he'll presumably have Argentine Tango and Waltz.
Louise & Kevin - Tango / Salsa or Samba
Ore & Joanne - Argentine Tango or Quickstep / Samba

as AT is not ballroom or latin they may have thought that was ok for Rinder to do an add on dance (AT) and a ballroom

Played crib against a young Mark Benton look-a-like last night. The resemblance was uncanny & put me off my game.

Based on the song choices I do suspect the Pro's chose them. Deadwood Stage is Sooooo Kevin. Pure Imagination is Soooooooo Joanne and One Night Only seems very Oti.

Last year Georgia was supposed to do AT and a VW, it's only because she was too ill to meet with AT choreographers she ended up doing Cha Cha Cha.

The Judge has a chance then. Great hips and a crowd pleaser.
Really hope he gets through - it will be very black and white without him

Well remembered and does throw a spanner in the works.

Ore & Joanne could be doing a QS & AT if they make the Semis in that case.

Card game where the aim is to score 15, a run and finish each section at 31. Then keep going until the winning side passes 121 points. We play best of 5 legs. Not a complicated game to learn, but tricky to avoid pitfalls.
