I just loved Oti and Danny's samba. In the dance they started off stalking each other then were celebrating each other, I loved the wild bit in the middle and however much I was loving it you could see they were loving it more . They created a great mood, it was sexy , it was, well... just wow. I also loved the groups reaction when they went upstairs. Scd fans can sometimes get a bit spikey but it was nice to see the group dynamic upstairs afterwards. I'd felt the music had been a bit flat at Blackpool but they did a great job tonight especially with this.

I was afraid the show might fall a bit flat after it but actually it didn't and AJ and Claudia's AT meant it finished on a high too.

Just off for a rewatch of the samba..

It was PERFECTION, THE BEST SAMBA I HAVE EVER SEEN ON Strictly, Oti's Choreography was FAB-U-LOUS and Danny's dancing was INCREDIBLE, for me, it was the dance of the series so far.

I don't like sambas usually as they are always poor in technique and don't catch the feel of a samba! But my dog that did, oti did an amazing job with choreography all samba content smashed into a tribal theme!!

Same here. Watched it three times. I think some other pros could learn from Oti.
She really knows how to play to the celebs strengths. I gave a standing ovation.
I think judges should have given them a SO.

I don't like Sambas as much as some of the other dances, but that was possibly the best dance of this series so far. Loved it, just watched it again. Well deserved tens for that.

It was a fantastic performance. So many of the Pro's give the Samba a miss, but fair play to Oti, she came up trumps with her choreography yet again.

It was interesting reading the comments from the expert naysayers on this forum about the tribal flavour of this Samba this week

Partly because of that, the fact that they danced first, and because I hate the Samba, my expectations were really low for this dance. Boy was I wrong.

Love this dance, and expect that I'll need an intervention to stop myself rewatching it

I love the Samba, it's my favourite dance on SCD.
I also love Danny & Oti. It's a tie between them and Louise & Kevin as my fave couple.
But...( don't shoot me)... I thought it could have had more bounce

I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed...

Sorry. I just think ( as a Samba lover ) that it's all about the bounce. A story is neither here nor there if there isn't uber bounce going on.

Great performance but looked messy to me, have to watch on Youtube and see it again!

Oti looked FAB-U-LOUS darling! A stunning girl for sure, so happy she got a ringah this year... but a duffer beckons in 2017, if she's back.

Brilliant, first wow dance of the series for me. Oti us divine, Danny would be so boring with someone else. AJ and Claudia were good also, but I think this should have closed the show.

Loved it. Samba's a favourite of mine anyway but I really loved the tribal take on it. And Bruno's comments afterwards were hilarious

I'd have to agree with this.

Have rewatched it several times already. Think it could be my fave Strictly samba to date.

Simply stunning!

The best samba before this was Mark Ramprakash and his was ridiculously undermarked

I loved it - I usually hate the Samba but this one was fabulous, by far my favourite Samba ever on Strictly (sorry Zoe & Ian!). I think Oti is fabulous and she's doing a brilliant job this year - long may it continue, right to raising the glitterball trophy!

Not necessarily - she could become the female Kevin Clifton!

Just watched that again on youtube. It really wasn't very good. About as much bounce as a spoonful of porridge hitting the floor.

That was the wow dance of the series. It was innovative and different, and I knew when I was watching it that it was special and he was going to get 10's.

I find most Strictly Sambas fall between adequate and dreadful -- but Danny and Oti's was off-the-charts wonderful! Oti pitched the tribal theme perfectly and Danny danced with a natural joy and freedom that I haven't seen since his Quickstep.

I agree Oti is fabulous. I actually enjoy the combination of her lively sparky nature and his more serious earnest one. She giggles at his early attempts which is funny but they really put the hours in to perfect those initially uncomfortable moves. Someone said as a criticism of Danny in a thread that their dances were all about the two of them ie not always engaging with the audience. I think there might have been some truth in that sometimes but I really felt that tonight Oti's training had given Danny the extra confidence with difficult moves to really enjoy the dance and engage with the audience as well as his partner in a fantastic dance.

It wasn't a Samba. Too aggressive. Too jerky. Nowhere near loose enough. Lacked passion, sizzle & any emotion other than "LOOK AT ME! AREN'T I GREAT". Typical Danny dance, all said. Overrated, overmarked, over-gushed-over. I scored it a generous 4 (and I'm an ex-part-time, semi-retired, professionally-trained, dance expert, so I should know what I'm talking about, darlings!)

Check out Jake Wood's Samba sometime. Or Matt Baker's, or... in fact - any Samba ever, in the entire history of the series. Danny's ranks just slightly below Anne Widdecombe's.

Cheerio!

PS Danny's gonna smash it in the final. So is Louise! They're both gonna SMASH it, come final night. Wait and see. Smack it clean out of the park! The other contestants are simply wasting their time, their energy, and their effort. DANNY MAC (or LOUISE) WILL WIN THIS SERIES.... EASILY. Everybody knows it. Their extensive previous dance training is starting to show through now, and has been threatening to poke out since Week 0. Yipppeee. I love them both equally. Oti & Kevin are just enjoying the ride, coasting along, lapping up the 10 10 10 10s. DANNY DANNY DANNY, LOUISE LOUISE LOUISE. win win win....
