I knew that if it went right, it would be amazing - and Danny& Oti didn't disappoint!! I've watched it loads as I love a great ballroom samba. It had all the basic samba steps in, done brilliantly with great bounce and hip action. For a male celeb to get all that is just phenomenal. Samba is a hard dance to master imo, the hardest of the latin dances. Matt Baker has now been toppled as King of the Strictly Samba, well done Danny

I was very pleased for Oti as imo she is the most genuine of the Pro Dancers.

The Samba was perfect - the combination of music and choreography was sublime. And Danny's perfect execution added to the perfection.
I later thought - wow Oti must have risen to people's eyes after that dance - she keeps pushing Danny towards excellence - yes, he's trained but she asked him to dance to the top of his abilities. And the result is a showstopper. |

it was great to see something a bit different, and oti was incredible. i hadn't been entirely convinced by her before, particularly her legs and feet which sometimes seem to be a bit bandy / sickled, but she sure as hell smashed that samba...
![]() i personally like it when the dances move creatively out of the comfort zone. |

Only my third "wow" moment of the series (so far) and the only dance worthy of 40 this series.
Fab-u-lous.

That was simply brilliant. A moment when everything comes together music, choreography, dancing and partnership. Perfect.

It reminded me of when Len had said earlier in the competition about Ore's jive 'Move over Jay, it's Ore now' or something like that. Well, it was not a bad jive, but it did not have the same impact. This samba had that. It was one of those moments when all comes together and creates something special and memorable. I think this samba will be remembered for a while.

Yeah best and most memorable Samba ever, very original and they were both so into it. Oti was looking her hottest yet, too.

This completely. And it looked so much fun. I think the arm swinging part should be part of my morning ritual, you'd feel so fabulous and loose after it...or dislocated!

Simply stunning routine. Oti is amazing and Danny has really put the work in this week. Will go down in Strictly history as one of the most memorable dances. I pity any of the other celebs who have samba left to do
![]() I just really wish that wardrobe had found a better pair of trousers for Danny

There should be 11 paddles for dances like that. It really was off the scale.

![]() I just really wish that wardrobe had found a better pair of trousers for Danny ![]() It's funny, after I'd seen Oti's costume for this on ITT I was a bit worried what they'd stick Danny in but I really liked what he wore, it felt perfect...brown trousers and all. He made me think of a guy who'd been busy all day working in the rain forest and was out for the night...not too fancy but with a bit of understated glitz on his shirt.I haven't always liked his costumes, the paso for instance I thought the shirt was a bit blousey and baggy and belty and it didn't suit his stature and I'd have made the tails a little bit shorter for their Charleston. Lucky I'm not doing wardrobe though and I do think Vicky Gill does a great job generally. |

The strange thing about the samba is that they were shown full length for most of the time! Is this a first?

That move right at the beginning where Danny approaches Oti thrusting his parts, is that an official Samba move?
![]() ![]() ![]() Anyway the dance is currently trending at #1 on YouTube. Well done Oti and Danny. |
