Forgive me if I've missed something but how much money did they con people out of?

20 people X £15000 equates to 300 000 plus Jason's 65 000 but Phelan promised Todd that Jason and Sarah wouldn't lose their money so they were gonna make about £270000 at most. £135000 each. Plays how much did Eileen spend on tiles????

Hardly setting them up for life in Mexico??

Also can't they now sell the flats - did they own the land?

Remember it's Corrie it doesn't pay to overthink and over analyse the storylines too much, just sit back relax have a chuckle at the nonsense.

My opinion of all soaps is they are something to sit unwind and relax with until the serious dramas start at 9pm.

I didn't think they owned any land, and the flats didn’t exist did they? I was wondering about that place where Michael died - perhaps they rented it or were squatting

The amount of money they were going to get from the scam seems ridiculously small, but maybe there were more victims we didn't see, and they had low overheads. Still nowhere near enough to retire to Mexico on though

Don't think this could be classed as a spoiler, but just in case

The storyline was flawed. people were handing over thousands to someone they didn't know and when they did, not one checked out the place they were actually buying. Obviously we're meant to believe it wasn't just those on the street who put money down.

They all saw some plans - I bought a new build off plan and like them I wasnt allowed to go in to have a look around until exchange of Contracts - H&S - much to my dismay there was no kitchen window and they didnt explain this to me beforehand so situations like that do exist although once I put down £1,000 deposit solicitors were then involved, I just dont know how it was £15k deposit as you are only reserving.

This is where the problem lies. I would be hugely reluctant to put down a £15k deposit on something that hadn't been built. It would be a different story if you were trying to buy a property abroad or something and it was already built and in place, but I think most people in this day and age would baulk at handing over £15k for something that doesn't even exist yet.
