Tv over net only
Are there any services offering all the freeview channels over Internet?
Mum in law can't get cable, sky, free sat or freeview. I'd rather not go down the kodi route with her. I think even bt vision requires an aerial for the standard channels. |

There is but not in the respect of channel selection like BBC 1 on channel 1 and ITV on 3, channel 5 on 5 etc, etc,.
You can buy something like a Roku stick (bought one in Argos last week for £19-99) and you add free apps for BBC iPlayer and ITV, C4, C5 etc, etc. This enables catch up but many of the channels are available to view live too AFAIK. I say AFAIK because even though I have several streaming boxes here I don’t watch anything live but I’m sure some, but not all are. I think you will need a broadband speed of at least 2 to 3 Mb (more for HD) download speed. |

Actually there are at least three:
http://tvcatchup.com/ http://tvplayer.com/ https://www.filmon.com/ And a cheap and easy way to view Filmon in SD is to side load onto a Now TV or Roku box though it does require manual updates on the Now TV box: http://blog.artesea.co.uk/2016/11/fi...an-update.html |

Intrigued to know where this place is that can't get satellite or terrestrial. Surely one of them must be available.

My parents get extremely 'iffy' coverage through the ariel so they have a dish, luckily there isn't a mountain in the way of the satellite! |

I didn't mean not available but she's in a short term rent and not wanting to spend to get cable or sat. It's a middle of 3 flats and doesn't already have an aerial so would cost to get one.

Somewhere in Wales maybe?

I think it is important to consider the user experience when taking your mother-in-law into account - in other words, an officially sanctioned service and one that is available on a proper TV through a proper app.
TVPlayer is probably the best bet here then. It is on a few devices, with one of the cheapest and easiest to use being the Amazon Fire TV Stick. It has most of the FreeView channels and a dedicated free app. There are no costs unless your mother-in-law also wants some of the premium channels. That Fire TV stick will also get here the BBC iPlayer (which is awesome), ITV Player, All 4, Demand 5 and UKTV Play, all of which are free and offers the same shows as their respective channels but your Mother-in-law can watch when she wants. She doesn't need to subscribe to Prime for that stick, but it will give her even more content. You can try TVPlayer out on the web for free, and if you like it, just grab a Fire stick and she will be sorted. Make sure her Internet and Wifi is good first though. |

Thanks. This tv player sounds promising.
