X Factor dire as usual. Strictly solid and is exactly the same as last year. I'm a Celebrity, I think, was dented due to the late start (9.50 was very late). Meet the Parents is the flop of the year regardless of any demos it gets.”

So The X Factor - 5.67m not even getting 6 million viewers, we knew people were giving up on the show, but this rating is beyond terrible. Where did it all go wrong?

Judges- 3/4 too old, can't sing.
Poor contestants.
Feels like it's in a time warp from the early 2000's as soon as that title music starts.
Too bloated too much padding.

Will the last XF viewer switch off the lights when they give up?

The acts are just not very good.

Even the reliable ones were not so last night. Saara did one great song, but the second was poor, shes a great singer, she should focus on that.

Emily got lost in her second song too, totally unsuited to her voice.

the crapper is just dull, and shown herself to be a bit of a nasty one last week too, so its not a bit of a laugh any more, plus she gave up completely in the second song and just walked around the stage without uttering a word.

3 boys and a backing track are good dancers, but that much miming is far too obvious, they were playing the original backing vocals and pretending it was 5 am on uptown funk for heavens sake.

It just is not very good any more.

The problem is putting dire acts through to the lives and getting rid of all the talent.

I stopped watching when I read who went through to the lives as it was stupid. I actually like the judges and think the panel is probably the best since the Series 5-7 days.

Its just stupid production decisions which are ruining the show

I think saraaa has put a lot of viewers off as she is so cold people don't like her

It went wrong at Judges Houses and the blatant manipulation that followed. I give up on the series when Relley C left.

Getting rid of the best people at judges houses and putting through the worst joke acts in the history of the show for controversy

Even most people still watching are doing so out of habit rather than interest

I have watched every single episode since the first series in 2004, but stopped watching around 3 weeks ago.

- The talent is crap, the most talented ones went home at judges houses.
- Talking of judges houses, I do not believe the judges make those decisions. More manipulation.
- The jukebox is rigged, and their claims that it is legit are an insult to my intelligence. It lands on Fright night on Halloween, it never hits the same theme twice, it slows down and then speeds up again.
- The judges are dishonest - they blatantly lie about who is good and who is not. Standing ovations are given to Honey G and Reggie N Bollie while talented people are hung out to dry.
- The producers use tactics to sabotage some contestants. The running order, song choice, stage design, judges' comments, VT. I'd strongly suggest reading some stuff here
- Cowell needs to go, but his ego it too big to realise it. He doesn't understand that having him, a producer, on the panel only makes it feel even more manipulated. At least when Gary was on the panel he did whatever he wanted most of the time, but Simon has a firm grip over the other judges. "Simon, who are you sending home?" ..."Gifty".
- They've been doing the same old song choices for sixteen years, If I hear one more woman shout her way through 'I will Always Love You" I think i'll need pills.
- Everything has a shelf life, and The X Factor is very old.
- The ****ing sob stories

I only watched most of this one because I have been here since the beginning, and even though it was crap decided to stick around for what I assumed would be the last one. It looks like it is going to limp on. I'm not an 'older' person who is way outside the show's target demographic either, today is actually my 25th birthday. Oh shit, i'm an over.

Phoney staying longer than she should have, as soon as she was confirmed on the tour she should have been out of there

They made a BIG mistake keeping her in longer than was necessary, as they could have gotten her out and THEN we could have given producers the bottom 2 they were dreaming of in Ryan v Emily

Doesn't really help they are constantly indulging Phoney with the big productions and standing ovations and just generally letting her do what the hell she likes every week without pulling her up on it

I thought it would of gone down lower, I guess people stick with it cause they've done for years and nowt much else to watch. I'd rather Honey G than Mick Mac. But yeah so many things wrong this year with the show, too fake and staged.

Simple, none of the contestants are worth watching

They also have too many ad breaks nowadays. That's another reason.

One act and then an ad break for 5+ or so minutes, then another 5 mins of an act then another 5 mins of ads...no thanks.

Stopped watching about 3 weeks ago, fed up with the special treatment the joke act gets plus 3/4 crap judges.

I think its a combination of the judges- watching Sharon Osbourne not know what camera to look at is not amusing, Nicole making up words as she goes along, Simon interrupting her every time she does say anything worthwhile and Louis with the same old clichés.. its dull.

The contestants- Well I think we can all agree the best were sent home at judges houses. Phoney G should not be there and every time she gets a standing ovation for stomping around the stage like a gorilla/drunk aunt dancing at a wedding I can't help but roll my eyes.

The show needs put to rest. Preferably for good.

Below 6 million? That's heading towards Big Brother viewing figures right now!

Clearly the ITV bosses are in serious denial that the show is failing to pull in the ratings these days.

blatant manipulation is the main killer I think

Agreed, even though manipulation began rearing it's ugly head since 2010.

theres way too much manipulation the viewers are probably fed up of being treated like morons, that, along with the fact its just a very very tired show.
American idol knew when to stop, does X Factor?

i really wouldnt blame the judges or presenter because it doesnt matter who they get on the panel. the ratings would be the same.

People have been saying the same thing for the last 12 years.

Because they're removed after they've been selected.

Yet Matt, the supposed 'chosen one' this year, has never been favoured by the running order. He's had little help from staging, he's been given absolute turkeys like I'm Your Man, and last night he had to sing a song he'd previously screeched his way through in the 6 chair challenge.

Little wonder this forum is far less active than it used to be when seemingly the majority of the active membership garner 'their' opinions from the absurd website you've linked to.

With the panel as weak as it is, his inclusion is a blessing.

I'm struggling to envisage the wettest pop star of the last 25 years as a loose cannon.

The show started in 2004.

It's been performed by a female act on the live shows once in the last 10 series.

for me the show just has no sense of direction

it picks predominantly young contestants then styles them in a quite dated way and has them sing songs from a bland, limited songlist

it seems to forget that the typical saturday night TV audience probably grew up listening to music influenced by punk/new wave and on to brit pop and the start of house/garage rather than "The very best of high school disco - volumes 1-17"

it needs to stop catering to the lowest common denominator and stop with all the scripted bollocks from the judges and give proper constructive feedback, if an act is crap and out of tune i want to hear the judges tell them they were crap and out of tune

stop covering up for contestants flaws with over-elaborate staging, heavy backing tracks and miming, and give the acts more say in what they sing and let them develop their own identity if they know what that is.

I think one of the big things is how fake the show feels now.

She is far from cold..

The problem is Crappy G.

They are now scared to criticuse her

it's not the 'back to original' graphics and panel, it's all due to judges houses and the real talent sent home.

The show is roughly on par with EastEnders ratings, so will you toast the same fate for that?

Saraa is off putting...she's a professional singer competing against amateurs.

Honey G is a calamity. Not funny, not clever.
