She can play this to her advantage. An untrained women decides to have a go at being an MP. Wins against all the odds. Elite media turn on her in a how dare you way. If we want Parliament to be more representative then you would have far more folks not media trained prior to standing. Folks like JHB see it all as a club politicians / media.

First question - when are you going to stand down and force a second by election as people perhaps didn't know what they were voting for yesterday.

Secondly you won by about the same 4.5 per cent leave won by and you got less than 50 per cent. Shouldn't we rerun the by election so that we can be really clear that was what people really wanted.

And it gets better!

Her media handler then cuts short the interview 3 minutes in and says she has go.”

I am trying to listen to this but it is not working for me. Only silence.

Boy, I'd love to have been the interviewee answering those questions.
1 - "Yes, I can do better than that, you can kick me out in March if you have an early general election!"
2- " see above"

Believe in that do you. What you believe to be a potential vindictive punishment of people who don't vote the 'right' way?

Not that that's what it would be. Heathrow was a done deal anyway imo.

For putting the longer term economic interest of the country above their own environmental interests? That you laugh at that says more about you...

Why?
The expansion didn't rest on whether rich boy was MP or not.

Its difficult to think of a time when all the opposition parties were all being so childish and opportunist.

The Libdems want to keep on having a referendum until they get a stay answer. They don't care what the no voters wanted, as they won't be given any of it. Although they have no idea how you could practically have any second referendum- which would have to all of the new deal, some other deal, and the old deal , as the 3 logical options.

Labour is blaming the Conservatives for being thrown economically off course - when its the voters votng Leave who have had all the major impact. They also claim the government is going for hard brexit -when it isn't , and when whatever brexit we get will be in Europe's hands not ours. Its a lie , built on a lie. Meanwhile, Labour itself is hopelessly split over European policy, over immigration, brexit terms, and what to vote for, and its only economic answer - is to print and borrow 500 billion.

UKIP's only chance to survive , is to claim that the Conservatives are betraying leave voters, and that Labour won't help the poorer voters. But they have no policies that stand up on the economy, and they assume all leave voters are masochists, and want a hard brexit.

The SNP pop up every day to make the point that the horrible English are taking them out of the EU - with absolutely no intention of doing anything about it - by caling a second referendum on iindependence. They just exist to stir their vote up, to keep it.

The Greens are demanding a soft brexit - oblivious to the fact that we can't decide what we get.

Meanwhile, May has to cope with the 3 amigos, needed to sell the deal, the sacked ministers, her left wing, and her xenophobes on the far rght.

Its no wonder that Cameron took one look at this mess ,and decided not to risk his sanity trying to wade through it.

Basically the whole Brexit thing's a contradiction? If leaving the EU is supposed to give us back our democracy, then SURELY the country should have a vote on the outcome of Brexit, either a further referendum based on the terms of Brexit - or - a vote in the house of Commons? Otherwise there's no democracy involved whatsoever, just merely the autocracy of the Brexiteers at the top of the government doing what they like and forcing the result on us?
Sure we get 2020 - but by then it's may well be far too late to change anything.

These places are not in London but in Kent, Essex, Surrey, Middlesex etc. Some bureaucrat may have drawn lines on a map in the 60s but you can't change centuries of history or their postal addresses.

Maybe that's why so many of these areas voted leave or had very close results - because they are also a bit tired of being lectured by those with superior leafy London attitudes as well who think they are better than them cos their house is worth more or they have a 'degree'.. Cos not all 'London' voted remain - just zones 1 to 3/4.

You mean the six amigos? Don't forget about Priti Patel, Andrea Leadsom and Chris Grayling who are also Lords of Brexit!

JHB even had the cheek to suggest that Olney was not fit to be an MP just because she was faltering in the wake of her diatribe. You couldn't really call it an "interview", it was more of a three minute hawkish rant from Brewer about Brexit and democracy.

Even if it is as you say - running away and getting an aide to apologise is not a good start.

Neil would destroy her - I bet we do not see her with serious journalists for a long time.

For sure, it was a big mistake for her to go on with Brewer of all people. In her defence though, she's only in politics for a year and it's obvious she has had no media training. It was a bit nasty of JHB to try and tear her to shreds the morning after she was elected, I wouldn't really call it an interview.

There is no defence - if you want to be a big girl, then learn to deal with what the next couple of years are going to be like. Fleet Street will have heard that interview and will be queuing up to devour her.

JHB is not being nasty, she is being a journalist - one sniff of blood and they are sharks.

If that is a dig at me, I suggest you read the whole discussion.

Then direct your comment somewhere else. Look for the following:-

'so long as they articulate their point intelligently and coherently. That is a very rare occurrence from Leavers.
