So, LibDem peers will vote against A50! Confirmed by Tim Farron......errrr. Susan Kramer!
They should be renamed the Illiberal anti-Democrat Party.

Baroness thingy's excuses about "leavers having no plan in place" - well, that could be because we had a Remainer as PM who didn't put anything in place because he believed that Remain would win.

No it wasn't Diane.

Gwynedd - remain
Ceredigion - remain
Vale of Glamorgan - remain
Monmouthshire - remain

None in London nor 'university cities'.

Not to mention the Scottish results.
She was referring to England and where the big remain leads were which drove the total vote.

Yes remain won places in Wales but not by big margins generally.

Totally agree.

Exposing the Lib Dems for the opportunistic hypocrites they are on the Brexit issue.
They've really touched your nerve haven't they, going by this thread.

You say he's balanced. He has not challenged any of the others yet.
He has been bashing Susan Kramer for 30+ minutes.
Are you hearing her? She has said she will vote against A50 if a second referendum is not offered on the deal. But the referendum she will support is only:

Do you accept the deal
Or Do you want to remain in the EU?

No alternative such as "This Deal"
"A different deal."

Too right. Labour and the Tories have accepted the referendum result.

The Lib Dems want to use the Lords to block the will of the people in a referendum. Its shameful frankly.

John Curtis suggests that if LibDems win it could be due to Labour voters turning away from Corbyn and choosing LibDems as an alternative. Interesting.

Plus, if LibDems do win, who would the Tories have to vote for? Who is representing the Tories?

The look on John Curtice's face when Diane Abbott was ranting about his analysis being rubbish was priceless. And sums up the look that most people have when she opens her mouth.

This is the guy who led the team that delivered a spot-on exit poll last year. Somehow I think he knows what he's talking about.

Lib Dems position on EU has been consistent right the way through. Their voters are pro EU as a group more than any other party. Quite frankly it would be odd if they abandoned their viewpoint. Referendum doesn't mean that any other position on EU is now defunct. Would UKIP have abandoned their viewpoint if Remain had won? No.

Yes, all true. But grace is often required.

Not really. They abhorr the idea of brexit. Most of their supporters probably do.
Nearly half the country voted remain. Good for them not lying down to be shafted.

I do hate them as a party btw

They've seen a dividing line for themselves and have taken it. It's what they have consistently believed so it is not contrived. Same as they did with Iraq.

I can accept them backing remain as party policy. But saying they are going to use their 104 unelected Peers to block the will of the Commons and the public in a referendum is a step too far. It is disgraceful.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if the LibDems won, then a GE was voted for in the New Year and the Tories won it again in February?

Democracy hasn't been suspended with referendum vote. They are representing their supporters who by a huge majority voted Remain. 104 Peers can't dictate result in Lords there are hundreds of them!

You can just feel the Lib Dem's head getting bigger and bigger.

They can't win or they'll never learn from going into coalition with the Tories.
