This constituency went back to Tories in 2010 when they stopped being rabid right. As soon as they've gone rabid right again it's gone back to Lib Dems. There are other constituencies like this across the country.

Only in the very near vicinity of Richmond. . The ex Liberal , SW, and the more northern seats, voted Leave and don't have planes landing there.

wondering whether this by-election might be a sign of things to come

the Tories not contesting the seat as they would be worried about splitting the vote

UKIP and Greens not putting up a candidate and Labour almost campaigning on behalf of the Lib Dems

could we see much more of this strategic approach in future ?
