Easy answer: buy a 4G filter and fit it to the aerial cable incomer. If the problem goes away then your diagnosis was right.
However, there are loads of other causes for signal loss/break-up. This is not exhaustive, but some starter ideas include: water in cable; aerial moved out of alignment; bits of aerial fallen off; something new in your system (over amplified signal); poorly fitted aerial plug(s) finally causing a poor connection; something new built in line of sight to the transmitter so blocking the signal; poor quality cable allowing in local interference from poorly shielded switch mode power supplies..... |

My sister who live a few streets away says she is having the same problem. Will speak to the neighbors. |

I've checked cables, booster and aerial, all seem fine.
My sister who live a few streets away says she is having the same problem. We only have the info you provide to go on. If there's a process of elimination you've gone through in order to teach your conclusion then it's really useful for you to detail what you have done (and how) so that we have as complete a picture as possible. For example, how are you receiving from both Wrekin and Winter Hill? Quote:

Far more likely to be a crap internet router, sending illegal frequency signals back into a nearby uhf tv aerial, effectively, an illegal transmitter. But if it really is 4g, the filters are cheap enough, from maplin shops or online ..........

How on earth can a router with no physical connection to an aerial possibly radiate crap from said aerial?

He has claimed this before but when challenged as to his theory didn't reply. Perhaps he will now expand on it but I'm not holding my breath.
Might just cause a problem with the TV the cable was plugged into but I seriously doubt any significant energy would be radiated by the TV aerial to get into a neighbouring aerial to affect someone else's reception. |

I've had two letters (one just in the last month) saying I might be affected, but when I apply for a filter I get told there's no 4G 800 in my area.
That's total rubbish. Vodafone and O2 are on 800. EE now has 800 and Three has had 800 for at least a year. It was left with me having to answer a detailed questionnaire about my set up, location etc and I've yet to fill it in. Half tempted to go to a shop and buy one, but I am not entirely sure my problems with reception are down to 800, rather a weak signal for one or more multiplex. That said, if I'm entitled to a filter and they write to me - why won't they actually give one out without so much fuss? |
