I'm surprised to say I like Carol!
who, me?

When she first went in and was going on about being 'hard core' I thought I was going to find her extremely irritating. But in fact I've warmed to her. She's a good team player, is funny and intelligent and is actually kind (to Martin, for example). She doesn't seem to bitch or gossip either. I was actually sorry when she was in the bottom two. Anyone else?

What's not to like. She's a class act, gracious, giving, empathetic, aware that life is way too short for grudges and that being kind is one of the most underated virtues. An all-rounder and if there was any justice in the IAC world, 100% finalist material.

When I first saw she was going in I thought - on no not Carole - I love me - Vordeman who will turn up to the opening of an envelope in her size too small clothes, ropey hair and botox filled face. (plus her horsey laugh is awful)
Well I must say I have been very surprised and now think the real Carole is not the one we see on the Red Carpet and at showbiz events.
Taking one for the team - as Vicky Patterson described it - choosing Martin Roberts for her partner in the trial was a kind thing to do to save embarrassment all round and she is nowhere near like I though she was going to be.

Are the bottom 2 really the bottom 2 or the one going and A.N. Other chosen at random ?

Agree! (with both previous posters) As to the last two, I always assumed it was the two with the fewest votes and it wouldn't especially surprise me as Carol is a) older b) female and c) hasn't been particularly obvious in the edit. Hope she avoids it next time.

I've warmed to her too and the fact she's hardly mentioned on here speaks volumes . I think quite a few of us expected to see a melt down by now but I may be wrong

I'm sure in the past, when voting figures have been revealed, it's turned out that the other bottom two is a random contestant, not the actual second least voted person. Which is weird because I always think that the person who survives may benefit from a "bounce-back" vote; so for example Carol fans might think she's not safe and vote for her tonight as she was in the bottom two last time, whereas in reality the bottom two might have actually been Danny and Jordan, therefore Jordan being the one who needs votes, if you get my drift🤔.

I might be wrong about that, I'm sure someone else can confirm this, but I'm pretty sure contestants have been told it's between them and someone else but then turned out to be safe.

She's always come across as a calm and well integrated emotionally mature women with a good sense of humour. She's also always been able to laugh at herself, a valuable quality.
Do you remember after Martins gloriously manufactured "gloating" breakdown they went off to do a trial and Carol was one of them. They all left the camp and the men, Adam, Wayne, Danny and Jordan huddled together and had a good old chinwag about his behaviour behind his back while she simply walked away and left them to it.
I'd love to see her win now but I think there's little chance.

She's very media savvy, Katie Price was the same when she was in there.

Apart from a brief stint she did on Strictly some years back, I've never seen Carol before so really had no pre-conceived ideas of what she was like. But I now like her lot, she seems a really nice woman. I'd like to see her get a bit more air-time though.

Always liked her and never understood the dislike for her.

Like her even more now for her maturity, tolerance and good humour while the toddlers and empty vessels vie for the camera time.

I think the girls have been terrific. Just getting on with what is needed and all come across so pleasant and capable. Scarlett seems to have matured too. I would love to see three of them in the final but that won't happen will it?

I do too and I'm also surprised! I hold my hands up and say that I thought she'd be awful. I'm not exactly why I thought this - perhaps a combination of the fact she seems veey unpopular amongst people I know (not anymore!) and a harsh judgement on the little I know of her.

I've certainly learnt my lesson

I've been pleasantly surprised too.

Recalling her from the early Countdown days, I liked her and respected her. Then she started doing adverts and trilling on about her detox regime. Then she started turning herself into some kind of Barbie doll, which I find rather desperate given that she is an attractive woman. So, she went way down in my estimation.

Now, with her hair dishevelled and no make up, she has started to show again what I originally admired about her. Very clever and empathetic. Would the real Carol please stay that way!

Yes, I agree with all this but, like you, I doubt she will win.

I am pleased to see a bit of a shift of her on here, I have always liked her and was really confused at the start of the series by the sheer amount of negative feeling there was towards her, which I couldn't understand.

I'd love her to make the final, but she'd need to be getting more airtime otherwise she'll probably be out very soon.

Surely you can't be comparing her to the any attention for any reason, multi-talentless Katie Price???

I'm chuffed to bits Carol's got her pilot's licence and she's planning a round the world solo trip.
As I'm all for singing her praises I'll post this again on her thread and in her honour for anyone who missed it.
Carol puts her friend Jeremy Clarkson firmly in his place with her far superior engineering knowledge and love of driving .

It's great to see someone turn it around for the good. In the first couple of days I remember querying the amount of posts re Carol along the lines of 'I don't know what it is about her, but she really annoys me'. She's a lovely lady.

As soon as she entered she appeared strong and capable of handling whatever was thrown at her.
I'm only surprised by the turnaround of opinion here since I've seen a lot of people blaming her for Martin's performance in the jousting tournament thing.
