I can think of one person who is very good at teaching people how to count to 8,888,888 in Italian.

This is a thread 'housekeeping' notice. The GG Appreciation Thread is now closed and there is now a new Georgia May Foote Appreciation Thread

(Forum rules ask us not to discuss reasons why threads are closed)

DS Forum Support would like us to keep discussion of Giovanni to this thread and of Georgia to the new GMF Appreciation thread.

The Appreciation threads are places to be positive and we hope that both Gio and Georgia have lots of good things to Appreciate in 2017.

Ask him nicely and you might, just might, learn how to say 9,999,999 in Italian - and how useful would that be when placing your order for Prosecco

Hello Laila - welcome. Have you been watching Gio on Strictly or out there in the world of dance?

Sounds like the amount of calories I've consumed in the last few days...

Thank you. I was so happy when you started this thread. I've always thought that Giovanni is a very talented dancer, who is very often misunderstood , possibly language barrier plays its part.

I have watched strictly and also watched him last year at the O2.
I have booked to see his tour next year . I very much look forward to greet and meet him .once again thank you fit the warm welcome.

As mentioned in the new Georgia thread I think its a great shame there are separate threads. It is what it is. But does this mean that for example the Jay/Aliona thread should be closed as they are unlikely to dance again. Sad.

Hello Chris - as you say, it is what it is. I hope that you can keep the links to all the interesting past posts and reviews etc from the old thread. It's more about keeping the focus on the positive things to appreciate (and steering away from the negative/heavily critical stuff). The Jay/Aliona threads were always pretty positive - I read them a bit last year because they were amazingly good at tour information and video clips.

I've booked for Gio's tour in June, at the Hawth in Crawley. I am being indecisive about booking for the main Strictly Tour - need to grip my diary and bash it with a hammer until it co-operates I think!

Last year I went to the SSE Arena Wembley, which was terrific apart from Helen George not being able to dance through illness

Gio is an amazing dancer and I am really looking forward to seeing the professional routines on his tour - can't wait (starts countdown clock.... )

Agreed Lady L, I'm sure they both will.

Ah great memories. I was at Wembley last year and going back again. As well as Giovanni in the pro and group routines (hope there'll be plenty of them!) there is also the prospect of Ed and Katya 'Gangnam Style' live...

OT. so sad about the passing of George Michael. I remember Gio on last year's ITT behind the scenes singing a little bit of 'Last Christmas' in his own inimitable 'style' and getting the words slightly wrong

Its sets a precedent, people were only being honest about both of them that's all. I do not rule out supporting him next year ( if he's there) and have wished him well on his tour.

Don't. Mention. Calories.

In my house, everything is officially calorie free until 2 January. It's a good line and I am sticking to it. I am only sad that there is no Butler Gio in tails to pass the cheeseboard. (best moment of the Christmas special )

Very, very shocked to hear about George Michael. Just too young.

Edit. Oh no. Carrie Fisher.
