Yes - a bit of star power would help. Luba will be a brilliant, brilliant dancer but a pro dancer who is a 'name' from the show would help ticket sales quite a bit. And you are spot on about the Grimsby connection being a big, big help. When I first saw the booking for the Grimsby Auditorium, I thought the tour organisers must have some plan up their sleeve to fill up such a big venue.

But Jo Clifton might have other plans, like a decent (and well-earned) holiday. She has gone straight into rehearsals for Millie so not much of a break for her after Strictly.

Not sure how he is going to fill Grimsby Auditorium without some help. Worst thing in the world is an empty theatre of that size. So I would say that Jo is likely at least for that venue. Kevin/Karen have their own tour as do Alijaz/Janette so won't be them. A lot of competition this year.

I don't think Joanne finishes until July15th. I just checked. Giovanni is in Grimsby on July 13th. Kevin and Karen are free.

Agree about Grimsby - unless the tour promoters know more than we do about how tours sell in mid-July. It feels like the right place for a guest spot.


Issfan you are right - I had missed that final week of the Millie tour in July in Newcastle. It's an odd schedule - they have quite a few two week gaps eg in March, May and June. They finish up (I thought) in the Bristol Hippodrome (which is a big, big venue) on 24 June - but the correct final week is 10-15 July in Newcastle.

So Joanne ruled out unless the Newcastle week is an understudy or a cast change.

Re. the Grimsby tour date, maybe it's just because he has performed at Karen & Kevin's show for the last two years, so is more known to the audience there. Might be some Clifton family involvement too. We will see...!
