Yes - I thought that was a great partnership and really made me like Alijaz tremendously.

Someone like Alison H next year please - warm, funny and with good timing.

Mind you, it's a bit to think that Laura, at 31, literally was the 'older woman' in this year's partnership.
I think Gio would get on with anyone whatever her age or ability

yes, five years older than Gio

You might need to install a 'thud' mat as well ...

Enjoyed ITT tonight and the clips of the dances in training for Musicals Week - they are all looking very, very good to me. Excited about Ore and Jo Clifton's Foxtrot - it might be quite magical.

On the pro challenge, I wonder if Gio has his eye on this one? Jive being 'his favoreeet dance' as we know. I think I am tipping Gorka or Gio for the win on this.
I need a "thud" mat every time I see a photo of Gio

am looking forward to Danny and Louise's dances as they're my favourites now, I thought Danny's samba was fantastic ... loved the routine and the music and I think Gio should do well in the pro challenge

.

It is quite extraordinary seeing the speed of the competition jives that Gio did with Erika Attisano. Would be nice to see again as part of a pro routine on the show - why put all that practice for the Pro Challenge to waste
always good to watch Gio and Erika's dances

Yes.

But...but.. the egg-and-spoon race they showed us last week was a personal highlight

The pros must just look at each other in despair at some of the routines.
I'm a huge fan of Matthew Cutler so it was great to see him on ITT on Monday although I was a bit annoyed that Zoe only had about five minutes to chat to him and Erin

seeing Matthew made me reminisce about some of the lovely pro dances from the early years of Strictly and I can't imagine Matthew, Nicole, Darren, Lilia and Camilla performing a routine like that

Just seen on Facebook that Gio is at the theatre tonight with his agent Gavin Barker and Strictly's exec producer Louise Rainbow. It's the Sister Act gala night apparently, produced by Craig (I think), so there may well be other SCD folk there.

Anyway, talking of theatre...my tickets to Gio's show have arrived already, with meet and greet afterwards. Eek!
I'm still hoping for a Gio calendar, do you think I should have a word with Gavin ?

How exciting, which venue are you going to

Hi Ruby

Going to Crawley and hoping they've got a well stocked bar nah, I'm really looking forward to it!! Also got tickets to the Strictly Tour ages ago and unless Gio does it I think Ed Balls may be the highlight, although I'm sure Danny will be fab and probably all of the others too.

I have also booked for Crawley so they will most definitely need a well stocked bar

I was shocked, shocked etc to see that the Meet and Greet tickets are nearly sold out. Why could that be?

Nope, I just can't understand it.

Anyone else on the thread thinking of booking at Crawley in June... act quickly.

Matthew and Erin were a fab, fab interview - it was far too short.

Yes to calendars! Although I think the BBC have banned them post-Ola.

I was hoping for an animal charity calendar with 12 months of pictures like this

Last night's Sister Act Gala was to raise funds for Diabetes UK. As well as Craig RH, Gavin Barker and Gio I spotted a few more Strictly names - Robin WIndsor, Tom Chambers and Natalie Lowe. No pics of Gio that I have seen.

Tour news I spotted that some Scottish dates will be announced next week. Issfan - hope they are near to you

All the pros seem very busy rehearsing for Musicals Week - I am looking forward to it

Couple of pics from what looks like a fun night out from about a week ago:

Gio with James Carney and Frankie Bridge Frankie appears to have stolen Gio’s cap!

Another one with Janette and her brother

Janette's limbs are way too flexible! ...I'm assuming that's her leg not Gio's

Looking forward to Musicals week and the pro group dance tomorrow

A calendar would be a very popular in the Lavender House

Happy looking Gio in the background of the group shot for Musicals Week

I am loving the idea of giving a Sicilian... a job done only by Venetians.

(Gio looks good as a gondolier though. Just hope that there is no singing involved )

Magical West Side Story number from the pro dancers - really enjoyed that.

The show felt a little flat to me otherwise. If only Jenny Tapps had not choreo'd so many endless lifts in Claudia's salsa it would have been totally joyous - but I still loved Claudia's enthusiasm. And actual lions in their VT!

Alijaz and Gio backstage - think someone needs to feed Alijaz a few mince pies.

Luba Mushtuk, Gio and Gorka backstage in costumes from the opening pro number (with the unfortunate Anton singing incident )

Gorka looking adorably as if he has borrowed Brendan Cole's leather jacket - it is drowning him

I think the pros enjoyed dancing it as well - I am going to rewatch that one quite a few times. So many dramatic details in the choreo.

Thanks for the pics Lady L. Funnily enough I can't remember seeing any gondolas on my recent trips to Sicily

Strictly boys doing press ups before the show

Enjoyed the show mostly - a few dances hampered by themes and music choices as usual but I thought they all did a good job. LOVED the West Side Story pro dance, one of my highlights of the series. Looking forward to the Chicago dance tomorrow.

I keep thinking that the BBC should have skipped an elimination when Will withdrew... there are so many couples that I would have enjoyed seeing in Musicals week. And, frankly, it was just MADE for Katya and Ed Balls - he would have loved it.

All the dancers were good and you can see how hard they have all worked. I wonder if the bottom 2 will hold a surprise.

Those press ups...

And lovely that Gio has tweeted some nice words about the West Side story routine..

yes, much too short .... the first time in years that Matthew has been on ITT and Zoe only spoke to them for five minutes

do you think so, surely if Giovanni brought out a "tasteful" calendar, that would be acceptable and I'm sure there are twelve great pictures of him, with or without the dog

and in the Ruby household

I enjoyed the show very much, especially Claudia, Louise and Danny's dances although I thought the music was much too fast for a tango .... but I liked his jacket

what sort of dancing do you do ? I thought the pro dance was great, one of the best this series, will have to watch it again ..... several times

I wish the Friday panels on ITT included one of the 'old pros' each week just to mix it up a bit... and to add a bit of edge to the relentless positivity

I am not sure what the rules are on pro-branded products... I might have to dig around and see if there is an Anton or Brendan calendar this year

My problem with Louise and Kevin's routine was that I kept picturing it being danced by Ed and Katya.... now THAT would have been a showstopper. Oooh aaah YEE HA etc.
