It would appear that Frank was running some kind of scam. He went into partnership with that fella and stole his money. The fella lost his house, wife and kids and wants his money back.

It seems frank went to prison for being a con man

Frank is such a boring character, I can't muster any interest in anything he does. I think the actor isn't very good either.

Ditto from me, RickLopez; and it doesn't help that he is paired with the awful Tracey.

Best cast addition for a very long time, along with John McArdle.

Although I don't like the character as yet ( smooth con man, yuk) he's s becoming a bit more interesting now that we're learning more of his back story.

He's okay.
Not overly interested in his conman story of days past and am not keen on him being parent of the charmless Tracy.
Quite like him with Megan, they could be a decent duo if used correctly. Not a lot of investment going into couples at the minute so some thought needs to be put into the future of the couple and not just the short term prospects.
Quite like him as Vanessa's dad, she certainly needed some other link in the village since she's otherwise an extra character and not really important.
Am not very impressed with this mugging storyline either, it's very similar to one just six months ago with Holly.

But he's okay. Could be great, but we'll see.

I'm not sure what to make of Frank. Bit disappointed, if I'm honest. Not with the actor really, it's fun having an old screen icon back, even if he isn't the world's best actor. I just thought Frank's secret would be more interesting than a money scam.

Plus, I can't stand Tracey and don't buy any of the stuff between them. The story would've been way better if it was just him and Vanessa.

I thought it was always going to be some sort of scam though, didn't Tracy say her dad was a conman? Or Vanessa?

If not, then I must have dreamt it and had it become a memory. But I'm not sure I'm that Emmerdale obsessed.

Ugh, perhaps Tracy can have something horrible happen to her, allowing Frank to grieve for her and the audience to feel compassion for him. Tracy's gone and we get a possibly decent character as a replacement?

Even with the amount of death the past couple of months I could put up with just one more if it were to be Tracy.

I agree. Both are men who have improved looks wise as they've got older and I like them in their respective roles. If Ronnie was straight I'd be after him like a shot! He's such a sweetie.

Yes I like Ronnie too. He's lovely. I hope he and Lawrence work things out and Lawrence comes to terms with himself, even if they don't end up together.

And I do quite like Frank although I'm keeping an open mind about whether he's fundamentally good or just a thoroughly bad lot.

Yet another character with a criminal narrative = boring

Of course, he's seen as "good looking" so that makes him interesting or "watchable" in some quarters.

Why so quick to dismiss other posters? I don't t fancy him but I" ve started to find him more interesting as a character now we're re beginning to see a bit beyond the suave exterior. There's s always more than two camps Sheepie!

Unfortunately there are some people who only make negative comments - I know a few people like that in 'real life' too - I find it's best to take no notice of them

Sadly these days you can't like a character or find them interesting and watchable without being called a fangirl or fanboy

Then I can only hope you will find it in your superior self to forgive me for my opinion, ever so 'umble it may be. I dislike the character intensely, he has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and I find him quite repusive. So I am neither a fangirl or fanboy therefore, by your reckoning, I MUST be 'negative' and, therefore, ignored.

I don't t think Andy meant that. Some posters never have a good thing to say, but you're re not one of them there's s room for all ' shades of grey' of opinions. Andy likes the character, you don't. I don't t like him but I' m beginning t see more layers to him than previously, which interests me. Sometimes on here if you say you like a character or find them interesting you get dismissed as a fan, or have your morality questioned sadly.

Maybe he did. Or maybe he didn't. Who knows? Only Andy does. He/she seemed to zoom in on the physical aspects so I take their opinion with a pinch of salt tbh and find it ironic that they feel they can judge other people and catergorise them. I await Andy's personal response. 😊

I thought he would be more interesting than he is although I like the actor and I do think he is good-looking. It is Tracey I cannot bear and David is so dull with her (not that he ever shone very brightly in my opinion!). I was sure that I had heard her call him a con man some time ago and the idea of trusting him with thousands of pounds of money for charity I thought was just silly. As if!

John McArdle has long been a favourite actor and I think he is lovely as Ronnie.

I loathe Frank with every fibre of my being, yet I cannot say exactly why! He just doesn't seem to fit in very well. He talks dead posh, and seems to think he's dead suave. He just doesn't seem very genuine in anything he does and the character doesn't seem to have much depth. I know it's early days but I just don't see Frank as a long term character unless they flesh him out a bit.

I know it might seem dull to some, but I'd have quite liked some scenes with Vanessa, just them talking about the past, about his life and why he's done some of things he's done, the mistakes he's made and why he feels now that he wants to change things.

I feel as though Vanessa and Tracy forgave his absence far too quickly and it feels to me that he's only really there becasue he has nowhere else to go. He seems to be using his daughters coming back into his life purely to his own advantage and making no real effort to get to know them. It all just feels a bit rushed!

I don't want Megan anywhere near him. She's a lovely character played by a great actress and I think she'd be wasted on that loser!

Not dull to me! I like Vanessa, so I'd have liked that. Plus that's where I thought this was going, some interesting backstory for Vanessa.

It just hasn't been done very well, but mixing it in with Tracey has sunk it for me, to be honest. I just don't care about her at all, and it's a shame to see a long-term character like David dragged down as well, though he was never a fave of mine.
