I know it's early days but I just don't see Frank as a long term character unless they flesh him out a bit.

I know it might seem dull to some, but I'd have quite liked some scenes with Vanessa, just them talking about the past, about his life and why he's done some of things he's done, the mistakes he's made and why he feels now that he wants to change things.

I feel as though Vanessa and Tracy forgave his absence far too quickly and it feels to me that he's only really there becasue he has nowhere else to go. He seems to be using his daughters coming back into his life purely to his own advantage and making no real effort to get to know them. It all just feels a bit rushed!

I don't want Megan anywhere near him. She's a lovely character played by a great actress and I think she'd be wasted on that loser!”

I hate to sound ageist, but Megan is a woman of what 44? 45? with a young baby. Frank by all accounts is in his sixties, although obviously MP is younger. I know they're re not serious at the moment but it's s hard to believe at the moment that Frank would want to take on a young child. Plus I think mentally there's s quite a big difference between forties and sixties. It's s not that they shouldn't go out together but I find it hard to believe that no one else has even mentioned the age difference, eve in passing. Then again, no one's s mentioned it with Carly and Marlon or Berniece and Lawrence...the familiar pattern reasserts itself I bet it got mentioned when Moira and Alex's s affair came out

As a couple of other posters have mentioned, I also recall Vanessa telling someone (Kirin I think) that her dad was in prison for having conned people out of loads of money, so I don't get why this has now been revealed as a big 'secret'.

Frank doesn't 'talk dead posh', he speaks properly.

Plus, I can't stand Tracey and don't buy any of the stuff between them. The story would've been way better if it was just him and Vanessa.”

I can't buy anything about Tracy. Terrible actress. What dirt has the actress got on TPTB. TBH why couldnt they put Laila back with David. They made a much better couple. Where is Jake?

Same he is really dull, just has nothing going at all.

We haven't seen the last of him. I just read the spoilers. Don't like him at all.

Well given that he's meant to be from Yorkshire or at least have been here for the last 40 odd years and doesn't have even a hint of an accent it's unrealistic. If he's Yorkshire born and bred he definitely talks posh!

He has quite a posh voice. No real accent.

I don't have strong feelings either way about him, he's alright. I really enjoy listening to the actor's voice though, it's very nice.

It is quite soothing. He was good at narrating the Timewatch documentaries.

I know this thread is about Frank but I just have to agree about Tracy. The character is awful and the actor doesn't improve on her in my opinion.

I loved David with Leyla and cannot really buy into her with Pete.

I actually really like Tracy but maybe that's because I've met the actress in real life who is lovely. I do agree though that David is WAY better suited to Leyla, they have great chemistry which I don't see in either of the other pairings with Tracy or Pete.

I know putting him back with Leyla after he was married to Alicia would have been contrived but I buy into them as a couple and it would have been a decent family unit for them all with Jakey included.

I like Frank, a decent addition. Emmerdale tend to be able to create new interesting characters that fit in with the show on the whole
