It always reminds me of our Music, Mime and Movement classes at Primary School - and makes about as much sense.

It really depends on the type of contemporary dance you're talking about. At the more lyrical end of the contemporary spectrum the choreography is beautifully expressive and can be quite balletic in technique and movement.

Even the more 'avant garde' type of contemporary is still rooted in good dance technique but that performance last night was just a hot mess, irrespective of who danced it.

In my opinion they would be better sticking to what they do best, which is ballroom.

I wondered if they'd been sent on to do a bit more dancing that they hadn't expected to have to do, maybe to distract from the bad singing. They looked as if they were improvising/making it up as they went along.

I'll have you know I was a bloody amazing tree, waving happily in the breeze..... before being heartlessly chopped down in my prime in order to be chipped and bound as MDF and turned into an Argos corner TV unit.

It was.... a journey!

The rest of the dance is bloody hilarious an' all.

It's the worst professional dance I ever remember seeing on Strictly. I think I've heard worse songs on there though.

I'm not sure it was meant to be solely that.

I think it looked to be an attempt at a series of mixed/conflicting emotions, varying from the aggressively passionate to soft and caressing. Each segment had a bit of both - and I think the emotions were discernible - but any actual story-telling got lost somehow, so for me it didn't really work as a concept.

It looked like some sort of tribal mating dance to me..... if we hear the pitter patter of tiny feet in 9 months we'll know it worked

I went and put the kettle on, didn't like the song or the dancing.

IT looked as if they were free styling a show dance surprised how bad it was. I love the pro dances however the group number was a load of old Ed's too. I
Didn't "connect with the story". Dance Olympics or something. The worst pro dance yet

Pro dances on strictly used to be something I really looked forward to and I love that song. I heard it on the radio the other day and even thought it would be great to see a dance to it on SCD. I think that was possibly my least favourite pro dance and interpretation though.

All the romance of the song destroyed, instead given to hopping and skipping franticness. What would have been wrong with a classy rumba???

I really miss the old pros of strictly nowadays and I hope we don't continue down this DWTS style route.”

Me too. There was very little romance in that dance.

i finally had a chance to go back and watch it this morning, and it was worse than i expected...

what was that bizarre bit where kevin was doing some weird steppy stepping on the spot?? like a bit of jazz dance for beginners thrown in amongst a movement therapy session...

Yes I agree. I can see what they were aiming to convey but it really really didn't work for me. To be fair, I didn't like the song and wouldn't want to dance to it.

I'm going to try the phrase in my next dance lesson (he doesn't watch Strictly) and see what reaction I get!

Fire and ice
This love is like fire and ice
This love is like rain and blue skies
This love is like sun on the rise
This love got me rolling the dice
Don't let me lose
Still falling for you
Still falling for you

Beautiful mind
Your heart got a story with mine
Your heart got me hurting at times
Your heart gave me new kind of highs
Your heart got me feeling so fine
So what to do
Still falling for you
Still falling for you
It took us a while
With every breath a new day
With love on the line
We've had our share of mistakes
But all your flaws and scars are mine
Still falling for you
Still falling for you

And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
I'm in
And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
No one can lift me, catch me the way that you do
I'm still falling for you

Brighter than gold
This love shining brighter than gold
This love is like letters in bold
This love is like out of control
This love is never growing old
You make it new
Still falling for you
Still falling for you

It took us a while
'Cause we were young and unsure
With love on the line
What if we both would need more
But all your flaws and scars are mine
Still falling for you
Still falling for you
Still falling for you

And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
I'm in
And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
No one can lift me, catch me the way that you do
Still falling for you

Falling, crash into my arms
Love you like this
Like a first kiss
Never let go
Falling, crash into my arms
Never breaking what we got
Still falling for you
Still falling for

And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
I’m in
And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
All for me

And just like that
All I feel is you
All I feel is you
You are all for me
I’m still falling
And just like that
All I feel is you
All I feel is you
You are all for me
No one can lift me, catch me the way that you do
I’m still falling for you”

Yep, about as deep as a coat of nail varnish. As I expected.
