If we all started a thread every time someone had a pop the board would be a tsunami of woe with nothing else on the first page

Missing the point entirely. Of course I can make up my own mind. I was interested in other people's views on it. That's what discussion boards are for, I think, anyway.

It isn't OK to "dig" at anyone. It is OK to have debate and make comments about people's dancing, costumes, comments and so on in the context of the show.

Louise said something, I commented on it jokingly and was accused of having a dig. I have never made a remark about her before and never will again after this.

It is not OK to call people clowns, buffoons, idiots and morons.
Ok, so I agree the comment you made was just meant to be humorous. However, I think some people would have seen yet another thread about Louise and thought that it was inviting digs, even if that wasn't your intention. So I think the issue was that you started a thread rather than made the comment on an existing one.

I've just had this as a response to one of my posts, which was about Louise Redknapp, and the first one I have ever made about her.

Why is it OK to have digs at Ed Balls, but not Louise? (even if it could have been interpreted as that, which it wasn't)

It's OK to say mean things about Ed, because he is a terrible dancer? I've seen some awful name calling about him.

And why is a comment passed off as a "dig"?

These boards are actually getting quite stupid.
I get what you're saying

I, too, was 'pounced' on for daring to post a negative comment about Louise

The poll inviting members to make a choice of their least favourite this week is an example of the point you make

All couples have received votes, but it is only the members who voted for Kevin and Louise who have been 'pulled up' and insulted for it

This aggressive defensiveness of Kevin and Louise is getting rather tiresome

Of course they do - I didn't say otherwise!

I think it's fairly obvious Louise is not as popular as the others on here. I don't think people dislike her, but she certainly doesn't seem to attract support in the way say, Claudia does.

It doesn't really matter since DS seems to be out of step with the general public.
We may also assume that Louise is more popular then Claudia, since Louise hasn't been in a DO .

Could their position on the leaderboard before the public vote have a bearing on that though ?

To the original poster - you're lucky. I'm stuck trying to persuade the guy who thinks he's God's gift to mathematics, trying to get people to actually change their votes each week, that his maths is full of holes. He's not listening and only giving me abuse in return. I know full well the Chinese proverb - "When you argue with a fool, there are two fools arguing" but I just can't let his endless essays of patchy maths slide past as enlightened wisdom.

It's an open forum so he is of course entitled to post his essays up each week. It's very frustrating.
