Or just attracted to SOB's, like a friend of mine. Always went for the alkies who'd rough her up. She's alone now, of course.

So far it has done full justice to the subject matter.

Tim Roth and Samantha Morton take a bow - the strangulation scene in particular was superbly chilling.”

This sums up my feeling too.

I nearly didn't bother with it, thinking that it would never live up to the film, but watched on catch-up, and was blown away.
Excellent stuff.

I'm pretty sure that there are several more, but there isn't a comprehensive list for the UK.

There is for the USA though http://listverse.com/2015/10/31/10-s...haul-truckers/”

Wow, all of four. I'm convinced, well, Black was a van driver and Wright was a fork-lift operator but aside from that...

Of course, could be that if you were inclined to bump off people on a regular basis, becoming a long-distance driver was a perfect way to achieve that aim without creating a statistical hot-spot.

And as pointed out by a TV critic, a refreshing lack of background muzak. The silence just added to the spookiness. Let's hope it sets a precedent!

Really enjoying it so far. Great acting and it feels very depressing and creepy in that house. It's been a long time since I watched the film with Attenborough, but I don't recall it portraying Ethel as covering for him regarding Muriel's disappearance. She does seem quite downtrodden though, more or less accepting her lot in life as the wife of a bastard.

She did it on the spur of the moment - pretending it was her coat. Muriel knows her husband is up to something, flirting etc, but think that's about all she suspects him of so far.

I visited Rillington Place (or Russington Mews as it was renamed) just before it was demolished. The BBC reproduction is very close to how it looked.I remember thinking what a desolate and grim place it was even in the 60s.It was situated in between Latimer road & Ladbroke road tube.
It saddens me that Dr Odess was depicted in a way that makes him come across in such a poor light in this series..I have no way of knowing whether he did indeed make the remarks as seen in last week's programme and in such a manner as to give rise to such a poor impression of him. I only know that I remember him as a very very kind gentle soul.
He was a work colleague of my late father and so I met him as a child on a number of occasions & he came to our house for Christmas one year.
My father said that Dr Odess had kept very detailed notes of Christie's visits to his surgery & this was used as evidence during the trial.
I recall him as being quite a small slight man, more like David Suchet in appearance I think...but this was obviously a few years ago now.

She's definitely suspicious. I'd like to rewatch the original film once this series is concluded.

That's a rarity. Someone who actually knew the doctor!

It's a shame they didn't ask you for advice on Dr. Odess.

Strange, I watched the film ages ago. I can remember the characters and actors playing the parts, but can't remember Ethel at all!!!

Is Tim Roth wearing a prosthetic nose?

I wish they'd stop jumping forward and showing what's going to happen. It's not as if the facts are unknown, but I'd like to just watch it unfold.

The 'last time' malarkey going on for five minutes is very American TV.

He was and it's a key fact, so very odd.

I remarked last week how Roth was playing Attenborough.

He's got a Welsh accent now which is kind of weird as he had a Cockney accent in the house.

Good grief, Nico Mirallegro's accent is all over the shop! Is it intentional?

Jodie and Nico were both in My Mad Fat Diary too. I'm sure this will have been mentioned
