I can see why he was wrongly hanged for murder now the way he's acting with his wife. Would have been hard to believe him as he lied so often and was a complete fantasist.

As much as I want to watch this, I can't. Knowing that poor Timothy Evans was hanged for a crime he didn't commit, is just awful.

Started watching this tonight by accident and am enjoying it immensely; it's different to the film of course but Tim Roth is playing a blinder as Christie, he's got that quiet sinister vibe to an absolute tee!

This isn't the first episode then judging by the length of the thread?

Well this is ridiculous and uneccessary.he comes over all Tom Jones when he goes to see his mother but reverts to Danny Dyer for everyone else.would Beryl not know he was Welsh ? Come back John Hurt.

As Harry explained, he's a complete Walter Mitty fantasist who takes on different personas to con people.

The first episode focused on Christies wife. It was very good.

It has to build up to her murder and his wrongful arrest and show the reasons why he was wrongfully charged with her murder. Plus Christies involvement.

Im getting what the writers are aiming at and Nico Is playing the part well but is there any evidence Timothy Evans did this ? I dont remember JH assuming a cockney accent in the film.Im sure he didnt.poor Tim was a lousy conman bless him.

Might be a bit of dramatic licence. Or maybe someone knew him and confirmed he used different accents.

What on earth possessed him to go along with Christies story and bury the body.

Fear, confusion, and a belief that as Christie was a doctor (!), he knew best

I said this last week. At the start the opening showed some hanging scenes and he had a Welsh accent but later in last weeks episode when he just arrived at number 10, he was almost pure cockney!
