Lack of EE topics
There's a severe lack of EE threads on here these days, the threads that are here are generally of the same vein (people moaning how bad it is).
Where has everyone gone? Are people just completely bored with the show and/or the forum these days? |

There just isn't much to talk about, IMO. I've always found the forum busiest and most entertaining and when a soap is either so atrociously bad that it's painfully funny (Blackburn CS years, or the Kirkwood/Newman years), or when there's some buzz around it (early DTC days.)
SOC's approach seems to be to make it as banal and dull as possible, leaving little room for entertaining discussion. Thanks. |

Thanks. ![]() For all DTCs hype he did give viewers something to look forward to (even though the hype seldom paid off). With SOC, it's not just the lack of interviews, there's been a drop in any news whatsoever. |

Where has everyone gone? Are people just completely bored with the show and/or the forum these days? I am struggling with the show at the moment and as you know I love it, but even I am finding it very mundane and struggle to come up with anything worth talking about. I kind of watch with one eye at the moment. I do think there is an improvement with characterisations but the plots are mundane and all the characters with the focus on them over the last couple of month are departures, so it's hard to invest anything in the stories because you know what's coming. Thanks |

Not always though Aaron, Whitneys miscarriage was kept from the spoilers for instance.

What I meant and didn't make clear is that he is concentrating on characters who are leaving, and although the spoilers are as tight if not tighter than ever, we still know the result is x or y leaving the show and it's difficult to invest in characters that aren't going to be there, no point in caring.

I suppose that's a fair assessment. For me personally though, some characters such as Whitney and Billy are more interesting now than they have been n years.

Personally I can't be bothered with Whit, but I entirely agree about Billy but that was largely down to DTC bringing Honey back one of the few decent things he did in the latter part of his tenure.

Generally speaking it's Corrie's moment in the sun, once EE picks up again in the majorities eyes you'll find loads of EE ones as per usual. ED threads have quietened down too

There's still discussion about EE but instead of lots of short threads there are a few longer ones which I think is better. Likewise there is discussion about ED but again it's in a few longer threads which again I think is better. A few longer threads rather than lots of short threads stop people having to say the same thing several times.

There's nothing we like more than a good moan and a dose of indication but they're all acting like saints since SOC took over. There's also a complete absence of dilemmas. The s/ls are so straightforward there's nothing to discuss bar the state of the show and the absence of any sort of news. We've exhausted our indignation over the axings and SOC has had at least a dozen threads about his handling of the show. If you can't think of anything S, what hope the rest of us.😁
Still I'm sort of enjoying the show all the same, but it's all very straightforward. |

Frankly there is nothing interesting to discuss.
It's boring and uninteresting for the most part, yes the characterisation and interaction has improved for some characters but when the most talk about thing is bins, you attention starts to waver. The plots are just meh, like as much as I have sympathy with Lee & Phil, I kinda had enough of the same scenes on repeat, the long winded exit is starting to grate. I hear what a few are saying, wait and see, stop being impatient but this is suppose to be EE at its prime, the winter months are what make it so exciting I just can't care for it at the moment and that is why boredom of watching is setting in, I can literally watch one episode a week and I don't feel like I've missed anything because it doesn't feel like anything has progressed, its certainly missable in my view. |

Scrabbler hun if this is your way of saying you want me to post more again on here and create more threads again you only have to ask.. 😉....... In a begging manner of course on all fours or bended knee! 😁 You must also put aside any jealousy you feel towards me especially regarding my erotic adventures with senior members of the Spanish royal family and the plans I have for the King of Swedens youngest hunky son 😍😘🔥😉.....
But seriously the show is lacking something that I will call Fizz? An ingredient that needs to sit alongside in the baking of a successful soap cake alongside that other important ingredient good characterisation. We have the latter without the Fizz. But also with regards to forum life and enthusiasm for it -Well it seems more and more people in general are becoming jaded by forums and participating on them. It's a complicated subject but they don't seem to emotionally to be able to give as many people the rewards and sustained interest that they used to. That's an issue wider than DS forums but there may be specific factors on DS that are causing people to post less? The question of can this phenomenon be turned around is an open one or maybe we are just past our zenith on here??!! Not 100 percent sure tbh. |

As much as I'm enjoying the character development in the show there's nothing really of note happening to discuss in great detail

There are only so much threads you can create on gripping storylines like Kim's driving, the bins and the stupid Christmas show.

I think it's a natural for soaps to have dull moments. They have to strike a balance between shocking and sensational storylines and everyday stuff the viewers can relate to. Too much either way and the audience finds it laughable or boring.

Because there's almost nothing to talk about. Apart from a shaky camera.
