We will get...
Stay Another Day All I Want For Christmas Last Christmas Silent Night In any different order for any of them. Dull and predictable theme.

Saara - F*** Off Santa (Bob Noxious)
5 After Midnight - Merry F***ing Christmas (Kevin Bloody Wilson) Emily - Mr Hanky The Christmas Poo (South Park) Matt - Hey Santa Claus You C***, Where's My F***omg Bike? (Think that one's Kevin Bloody Wilson too!) Those would certainly create a bit of controversy around the show... I was thinking Noi Tonight Santa for Emily and Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) for Matt too. If they did 2 Xmas songs each, Emily could do Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses and Matt could do I Believe In Father Christmas by Greg Lake to show a side other than his falsetto, which would be in full force on the Darkness song. Meanwhile, 5AM's backing singers could do Merry Xmas Everybody (Slade) and maybe One More Sleep rather than Saara, they'd be less likely to be disadvantaged by a Leona comparison than Saara. Saara could try 2000 Miles by the Pretenders and Kelly Clarkson's Underneath the Tree. Versatility is a definite strength for her, and both songs are fairly underrated. Though I'm sure they could be performed well, I'd rather not hear All I Want For Xmas, Silent Night or O Holy Night on the show this year, too predictable! xxxx |

Saara - Underneath The Tree (Kelly Clarkson) and What If (Kate Winslet) (or possibly a carol for the second song such as Silent Night, Away in a Manger or O Come all Ye Faithful).
Emily - On Christmas Day (Dido) and Miss You Most At Christmas Time (Mariah Carey) 5AM - Earth Song (Michael Jackson, Christmas No.1 1995) and Seasons in the Sun (Westlife) Matt - When A Child Is Born (Johnny Matthis) and Mad World (Gary Jules, Michael Andrews) |

Saara Aalto-
I always said if she gets to Christmas week I could imagine her doing O Holy Night by Mariah Carey or Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Darlene Love but I predict she'll be given the typical All I Want For Christmas Is You Matt Terry- I think he would do a lovely rendition of Silent Night. As long as he doesn't do the unnecessary falcettos then I reckon he's got it in the bag. I do agree with the OP that he would do a decent version of Merry Christmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon Emily Middlemas- I think that she'll probably be given Stay Another Day by East 17 but it'd be nice if she did a classic like Winter Wonderland or a mid-tempo song like Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree 5 After Midnight- I don't really know what Christmas songs could be picked for these. I can imagine them doing a very mediocre cover of I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard |

5am - Stay another day Emily - I was born on Christmas Day (St Etienne) Matt - Any old Christmas song as it will just be the same as every other week. |

I hope Saara does O Holy Night. I think they will give Matt all I want for Christmas as he likes singing high.

Matt - maybe Silent Night sung a la 'Bros', and yes needs to copy them and do their trademark 'growly' affectations, because we haven't heard any grit in his voice despite the fact that he said he was trying to sing lower last weekend. This is the first year that I've actually *wanted* someone to do some little runs or unnecessary key changes to make their performances more interesting.
War Is Over may also suit him especially if he has a big choir to back him, but please producers: NOT LAST CHRISTMAS. A fantastic song, once covered very well on acoustic guitar by James Dean Bradfield on TFI Friday, but it will inevitably be jaunty, weedy and cheesy if Matt sings it as-per George Michael. Not what he needs at this stage. |

Oh god, hope Matt doesn't screech is way through All I Want For Christmas. I'd rather he sing Last Christmas!! I don't get why he likes singing so high when he can sing lower? It's so annoying.

Matt will be given either Last Christmas by Wham or Merry Christmas Everyone (chestnuts roasting on an open fire) by Matt Monroe Emily something upbeat - rocking around the Christmas Tree (maybe) 5am - not sure yet |

5 After Midnight - Santa Claus Is Coming to Town (Jackson 5)
Saara Aalto - One More Sleep (Leona Lewis) Matt Terry - Baby Please Come Home [Christmas] (Michael Buble) Emily Middlemas - Underneath the Tree (Kelly Clarkson) I'd love Emily to do 'Fairytale Of New York' though since it'd be original for XF. |

Matt could do Please Come Home For Christmas by Bon Jovi?
Emily could do A Perfect Year? |

They're doing two again, right? So I'll suggest one jolly, cheery one, and one slower, more carol-y.
Saara - Underneath the Tree or All I Want for Christmas, and Ave Maria or Walking in the Air Matt - Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End) and White Christmas or The Christmas Song 5AM - Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Stay Another Day (so predictable, but nothing else would fit as well) - but they'll probably do a mashup of Rocking Around the Christmas Tree/Jingle Bell Rock/Santa Claus is Coming to Town/It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas/Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer/Kitchen Sink Emily - Santa Baby (fun and coy, but not too energetic so it's manageable for her) and White/Blue Christmas (she can fight it out with Matt) |
