I think Joel makes a good camp member because he's interesting, but I think he's quite sly in the way he talks about people. It feels like he compliments someone in quite a backhanded way. I think it's all a game to win. I don't mind that, why not play to win? But I don't know if he's a 'good guy' really.

His press release said something like "I'm entering the jungle to boost my profile," says it all.

![]() I've liked the cut of Joel's jib from the start without knowing anything about him, and I've seen nothing since to change my original opinion of him. He's one of the very few consistantly witty Bush Telegraphians and he's shown nothing but good, tolerant traits in all his trials and his interaction with the other campers. And contrary to what's been said above in earlier posts, his sarcasm is always generous and he's never shied away from placing himself at the very centre of his own, at times, knowingly awful jokes. ![]() Certainly one of my definite finalist contenders. Oh shock horror, the others are obviously purely there to entertain us. Now they are the real selfless ones. |

I love Joel - definitely want him to win and I think his 'dry wit' sense of humour is great. I'm not sure why people think he's mean to Martin; he's been very kind to him both to his face and in the bush telegraph.

Absolutely. As for the poster who said he said he was in there to raise his profile.

Sorry OP but he comes across as a needy twit who just craves attention. His press release said something like "I'm entering the jungle to boost my profile," says it all.
![]() OP, liking Joel and all the lads and their interaction. So good they can take the pee and have a laugh together. Jordan's still a scaredy cat, Larry's absobliddylutely had more than enough and needs a touch more sedation, Wayne's needs courage pills, he's a tad two faced because he can't cope with confrontation, Martin's a glorious prize prawn, Adam needs some downers and Joel cleverly observes them all. They're all decent blokes and basically ok now Martin's had his chain well and truly yanked.

Funny to read these comments and see how people get a different view of him, so far apart, based on the same footage!
I only knew of him a little before the show but think he is definitely one of the nicest people in there. His humour is obviously the type that can mislead people into thinking *bad* thoughts about his intentions I guess but I have yet to see any kind of nastiness about him. His humour is very dry, maybe that has confused some of you! I find most of what he says as very humorous, some is very funny, none of it is said with any malice whatsoever. He's currently deserving of being a possible winner for sure. |

I'd never heard of Joel before this series but I like him. Hope he comes top 3.
Some of his diary room stuff is a bit cringe but I think he has the measure of the others in there, not bad on the eye either. |

If ever the BBC or ITV make one of those biopic dramas based on the early days of Bruce Forsyth breaking out into the mainstream entertainment business during the 1950s then I think Joel would make a perfect casting for it.
There's no doubt that Bruce was at one time a huge figure in the world of light entertainment so it's a strong possibility that there will be a docu-drama based upon him one day. He has the same build and stature and same shaped head with a similar chin, nose and smile features to that of a young Bruce starting out. Even his voice has that raspy yet well-spoken pitch to it. |

I just don't find him funny any more. In fact I find the males that are left fairly boring, especially the footballer with the speech defect.

He is an annoying, smug git. I can never tell if he is being sincere.

Is he the one who's meant to be a comedian?
Nah, he's not very interesting. And he was bitchy about Martin. |
